Well possibly,... IT have installed a new Proxy monitoring and locking system, so they are planning to lockdown any non-work related website, which includes message boards, web mail etc. etc. So today my experiment is to see how I manage without the internet,.. (basically I won't be around today),.. That is unless I find "alternatives" to the proxy server,...  |

That's bad news Hotwire. Employers need to understand that all the time we the employee spend absorbing information, whatever it may be, is good for our commercial awareness!

You should complain that cutting off your internet affects employee morale and makes you do less work. (or will that just get you sacked?  ) |

do u know that version of Proxy it is cus if its the M/S based one specfic version you can get round it locking system----- i know cus its my Job ;D

They are using Surf Control here,.. just going down the route of barring websites,.. I used to be an IT manager so I've agot a few things to try,.. waiting for them to do the full lock down. They are currently investigating what pages people view and what they will lock down, I suspect that this isn't work related,.. even though it is for me, just not my day job BigPillows.com ,.. surely you need to find "Fit Burds" for your current publication??? |

I must be quite lucky then - we don't have any IT nazis where I work, otherwise I wouldn't be able to post on this and the other four car forums that I post on, as I don't have the net at home. Internet time is 9am to 6pm, with an hours break for lunch ;D |

The only real reasons I come into the office are VZI, Retro, eBay and hurling abuse at Nick. I can't spend 9 hours a day giving Nick grief, the poor lad needs a break! |

I say if we had a revolution then the Chavs would disappear, along with middle class bourgeois snobby bastards who get daddy to buy them brand new sports cars for their birthdays as well. Think about it, the clothes they wear, the cars they drive, the music they listen to, the films they watch, and even the words they use are dictated to them by what is cool at the moment, and that is controlled by the bean counters who control MTV, Coca Cola, Nike,The Ford Motor Company and every other big business. I say we should all become Trotskyists, and revolt, and then we would have peace to like real cars without having to compete with chavs in stupid piles of plastic with wheels on for space at the shows! ;D ;D
