looks minty!, lovely  Probably the mintest thing I've owned, lol! the silver 5 spokes are 16x7" with 205 45 16 tyres. then there are the ats cups which where 15x6.5" et28 and had 205 50 15 tyre ( 195 45or 50 would have been better), they fitted great and never rubbed. the steel wheels are wellers 13x7" with 185 55 13 tyres. something like 15x6.5" with et28 wheels would be best. I was naughty, all the wheels I had on it were 4x100 with woble bolts which I never had a problem with, I did this cus nice 4x98 wheels where hard to get hold of. theres much better choice of wheel if you use 4x100. Cheers, that gives me a better idea of how things will look... Surprised at the steels only being 13s, look bigger in the pix. Just wish 4x98 to 4x108 adapters were available, as I've got all sorts that would fit..... 8J and 7J 15" Wellers, 9x16 Borbet As etc.... |

I owned a 1981 Plymouth Horizon from new until it was written off after a collision in 1990. I was living in British Columbia. This was the first year that it came equiped with the optional Chrysler 2.2 litre engine. My sister-in-law bought a Dodge Omni the same week but it came with the smaller motor. Chrysler put EFI on the 2.2 engine in 1986 in its other cars, but sadly the L-body did not get it until its last year of production in 1989. The radiator was not very good and the cylinder head was replaced under warranty. There were a few perfomance versions put out by the factory, such as the GLH, a turbo and Shellby did some hot-rod work on it. My buddy Tony bought a mint '88 GLH last year. Try google.ca for parts and tuning info.
BTW, I like the Chrysler brand and we bought a '87 Dodge Aries to replace the Horizon - it was just sent to the wrecker a few months ago. The 2.2 with the EFI was a great motor. I would like to drive a mint Horizon again. Good luck with it.

My dad had a proper povvo spec 1984 series II when I was a kid - the 1.1 engine of epic tappet rattle, no centre console, no headrests, no passenger side door mirror & no tape deck! He kept it until about 1993 because it was really reliable... he owned only 4 cars in 32 years until recently LOL.
I think it said something about the Horizon that the Diesel was quicker than most of the petrol ones!

Spec sounds like my Dad's old one, even though his was a Chysler. Still even with this one being a GL it still has no headrests! Fully sorted in the tape deck and centre console department though! |

My ex girlfriend had one of these for a few weeks (her Dad was a motor trader) in 1996 and I was impressed by how airy and spacious it seemed. It started reading up on them and noticed there was a luxury Pullman model and thought 'I'll buy one of them if one turns up' but if there are only two left on the road I think the chances are slim. There are probably no Pullmans left  |

That's cool, but a nice simple low 'n' slow take here is the way to go! Maybe, just maybe, in this case, just keeping it polished, the rust at bay and as Chrysler intended may be the way to go? This is one rare baby and, no doubt, it will turn as many heads and be as much of a buzz to drive as it is without lowering/changing the rims and, basically, turning it into just another modified car? Hey, its your car, you payed the money and you are perfectly entitled to do whatever you want with it.....I sort of hope you don't do anything tho...  Good luck anyway. |

So many people are saying this, and I hear what they're saying.... but I'd like it sitting pretty on some tasty rims. With nothing other than that done whatsoever! just because you`ve modified it doesn`t make it any less rare, so long as you don`t go made with the modifications you can always put it bback to standard, do what makes you happy i say, plus they look f***ing awesome slammed on wide wheels.

It is staggering that one of these has survived in such good condition, my first car was ( I had Mini and Minor vans before) its big sister the Chrysler Alpine, seemed very comfortable and fast, had the noisiest camshaft, they were all noisy from what I remember, sadly the rear axle fell out due to corrosion it was only 7 years old!!! So that makes this one a real survivor.
