I am currently doing some work on my Harvest Gold 72 MGB GT, which will include lowering it, fitting a set of black JDM arches, then fitting a set of 15x9 Rota Aleica's (ebay no 290625368057) they are available in bronze, pink and gold (although only if I ship them from the US) really fancy a set of the gold ones but am worried the colour will clash with the colour of the car, what does everybody think??

so these: on one of these: I can't help but think the plastic arches will work better on a rubber bumper model, but I reckon the gold alloys should look good. Black might look slightly better on a chrome bumper model, the gold would look spot on if it were the rubber bumper type.

I think you can't fail! Awesome idea. They're just the rims I wanted for mine. If you don't like the chosen colour, you can just spray them yourself ;D Any excuse to pimp this out...

Thats them, mine is pretty much identical to the one in the pic although its currently got a set of mint 15x6 minilights with A drive Yoko's that'll be up for sale shortly, its fitted with an ST front spoiler, going to loose the over riders, and possibly the bumpers, wanted a wide deep dished wheel and but don't want to go down the sebring kit route as its been done to death and is a nightmare to fit... There is another guy on here modding a BGT along the same lines(1971 MGB GT 3.9 V8 track car - Wheels) hes got pics of the arches on a chrome buper car and I think they look great!!

Hi Bryn, yea, saw your B in Retro cars recently, I'd seen the arches on 240z's and though they'd look great on a B, your article proved that, did email you at the time via the Retrocars site to find out how you'd modded the rear arches to clear the wheels and lowered the back??

Pink and bronze ones are available in the UK in various widths and offsets, all 15", the Gold ones would have to come from the US, but they work out marginally cheaper anyway...

I had gold coloured wheels on a yellowy brown car. It sort of worked. Though I'm just waiting for a quote back from a friendly powdercoater for something a bit more mental. If the postage turns out to be prohibitively expensive from that ebay seller, they're available on Driftworks too iirc. Can't remember how much though.

Keep it 'true' to the Sakuras and fit the pink-centred ones...

The Gold ones are only available from the US supplier, works out about £570 shipped to the UK, pretty much what Driftworks etc are selling the pink and bronze for...
