Okay, so for once I want some negative stuff,.. and some positive stuff. However I don't want your life story, or even your insurance story. I want to know who you've had a bad insurance experience with and who you've had a good experience with. That is all, no details, no story, just the names.
We occasionally get offered the chance to do insurance for forum members at a discount, but I'm very, very wary of doing it. So I want to eliminate the possibility of doing anything with anyone that we don't like (as a collective).*
I'll start :
Bad Experience : None Good Experience : Footman James
*please note we may not do anything insurance wise, but I'd like some info anyway.

I recently got a multi car classic policy from Footman James. So far it been a very positive experience. They were very helpful, the policy is excellent and it was a bargain too. Not often you get those in the insurance world.

Nothing but good experiences from RH (Richardson Hosken). They don't even take the curse word with their renewal costs. Haven't tried claiming mind.....

Only ever had one experience.
Bad: Adrian Flux.
Explaination - Used to be good, over the past year they've lost some of their insurers. Now they're just expensive and arkward. Had trouble changing my vehicle and they wouldn't allow a second car while I had a car overlap period. Temp insurance cost me a bomb.

Been with Aon for years, then they got Footman James in, the price doubled, and I struggled to get any sense out of their operative. Adrian Flux wanted a policy for each car, but that still worked out cheaper than FJ. Operative not very knowledgeable, had to keep referring to someone else. Peter James had a knowledgable operative and was half FJ quote for better cover on agreed value vehicles. They got the business.

Almost all of my classic policies over the years have been with Footman James and I'd not hesitate to use them again. I've never had an accident though so I'm unaware of how a claim experience would be. I have used the free breakdown policy that was included and had a no quibble trip home on the back of a recovery truck that probaly cost more than my insurance for that particular year!

good- admiral, x2 (me and missus both on multicar).
indifferent- hic, ok cover, but are still harassing me monthly to cover a car 2 years after i sold it. flux, was about 5 years ago before all the buyouts etc. ok cover but did end up leaving them cos they refused to cover a car.
bad- DNA trade. beyond hopeless.

Bad: Sureterm - Just not helpful and very complicated (at the time anyway. about 3 years ago)
Great: County Insurance of Crewe - Ive got a motor traders policy with them. Only downside is they don't like vehicles pre 1980, but thats mainly because its my first trade policy and I'm a bairn. Best thing is it were cheap!!
