Anyone got some good examples of 1990s style tuning? Found an old 2000 copy of Performance Ford recently and some of the cars in there are so curse word they've gone round the bend and are awesome again in my eyes. Some examples Project 'RS Kicker', Max Power's own RS Turbo I can definitely tell Morettes, single wiper conversions, and TSWs were definitely the 'in' thing. If anyone's got any 90's copies of Fast Ford/Fast Car/Redline/Max Power/Performance Ford etc please scan 'em up! Apologies if this is too modern, I was under the impression this forum had a 2000 cut off point, and in all fairness this is all about forgotten tuning styles/fashions, so I guess it's retro by definition

Ahhhh...The 90's....the generation that spawned..... 'Aaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggggggggaaaaaaaaaaa-do!-do!-do!'' - There were some cool cars - but to me not so many cool ve-hick-ular trends if you get my drift....now watch someone prove me wrong.....

I had hundreds of Max p, Trevs and fast sheds for my sins from the mid nineties but they all got recycled at the end of last year when i moved to oz Shame as there were some real gems in there! Trevs magazine even did up a mk2 escort or the 'sorted 'scort' as the called it! It was bright orange with wide arches and i think they gave it away in a competition! I wonder if it still around? I recall Max P featuring a turbo'd 70's opel kadett coupe too... which shows that not all taste was completely lost!

Some of those are indeed so wrong they're right. Partly of course also because they're mostly based on late '80s cars. The only downside of these widebodied cars is that most of them is FWD.. Come on, don't start being like that now. You've only bought your first RWD car two weeks ago

You've only bought your first RWD car two weeks ago [/quote] If you decide to widen up te rear end with a Rieger kit to fit some big wheels, you need some power on those wheels. So a widebody E30 makes sense, but a golf doesn't really... allthough it's still cool!

Note the final line of that article... "They're budget cars,... but boy, do they turn heads" Back in the day before the AE86 had drift tax attached!

;D Blast from the past! I used only used to buy Max Power, didn't think the others had enough tits were as good
I remember reading the copy of Max Power with Project 2000 in at school. Only thing I would have changed was the paintwork. But then again, would it have worked if it wasn't pink?
Also, I don't think I've ever seen a Nova on 3 spokes since the mid-90's

I had most of those max and fast car mags, remember them well. I remember thinking how curse word the Uk cars were and their wheels and wonderd why all the german/dutch feture cars were so cool with their dished rims and lowness. I had a R11 turbo when that max power yellow on was a project car, and i was so glad my one looked nothing like it. (yes it was far more euro)
I started going abroad a lot then and often picked up a mag called TUNING. This showed me things i like, it was a german mag filled with E30s and asconas genraly smoothed with dishes split rims, slammed and nice details no body kits or TSW.
Every car i have had has been this style since (see the 90s german looking 944 in my sig) i cant believe the style took so long to catch on.
I bought this months TUNING mag this week in germany and it came with a copy of their 1st edition from 1986, bloody amazing - i will try to scan it.
