What it means is if you want to sell on eBay you have to think how the searches work and list your stuff accordingly.
Problem is that some folk may know the manufacturer of the car, bike or whatever a part is for but might not be sure of the exact model & year so surely this search option isn't 100%. I've had parts in the past which I've had an idea what they're for but don't know for certain, being able to select the manufacturer in the 'classic parts' section is more user friendly for both buyer & seller.
As mentioned previously, eBay are gearing to suit the businesses & eBay shop people as they're the one's that are drawing the money in. If this does turn out to be too much of a pain in the ar*e for the classic fraternity we might see a revival in swap meets and more stuff listed on forums/club pages & so on. I'd rather wander around a swap meet & buy parts there & then than have to wait for an auction to run it's course.
I'm finding eBay to be too pricey now anyway, I needed a flasher relay for the bike. Looked on eBay, 2nd had one's from breakers were between £10 ~ £18 BIN One seller wanted £10 for the relay (used) and £4.99 for postage. I went on a parts supplier, brought a brand new item at 10.30 on Friday morning & it was posted throught the door the next morning all for £11.50.
I think if eBay should be making 'improvements' they should be looking at what people are charging for postage, some people are just taking the pee. eBay doesn't work like it used to but I can't see too many people jumping to another site to buy & sell as there's nothing else out there.
