Am i going mad? I'm pretty sure there used to be a classic car parts section on ebay, and now there seems to be no such thing. Anyone else noticed this

Well thats a farce. You'd p*ss less people off if you removed the kitchenalia section, so they cant put it down to funding or whatever.

Why have they done this? I cant see any reason for it. Over the winter I tend to sell afew classic spares and accesories on there, now I don't think i'll bother, probably better off selling bits on here.

I too have noticed this. eBay seems to have a policy of continual meddling with things that should be left well alone, a bit like when I noticed that now I have to click on "purchase history" to see items I've won the auction on instead of them just being in myebay as they were before...

I suggest that everyone sends ebay an email voicing your concerns. If enough people do it they might realise what a dumb move this is. Maybe they won't do anything, but unless they get feedback they won't know so it's worth doing.

They want you to list your parts using the "parts application" thing like they do in eBayMotors.com and then you search using vehicle specific search.
So you go and say search for 1966 Mini Alloy Wheels and you will bring up everything that fits your car.
When listing you have to list the make, model, years, etc. that your parts fit.
This is a great thing as it makes it easier to search for stuff to fit your specific car
This is a terrible thing when you find that people selling car mats, air freshners, first aid kits, etc. have listed them as fitting all makes, all models, all years...
You guys really are resistant to any form of change arn't you?
The way the US site works is pretty good.
I'm assuming thats what will be happening on the UK site.
eBay is getting so big now they assume nobody browses by category...

^ it works terribly when doing it on the US site as well. You have to list each specific model, and each specific year your part fits. It can take hours. Especially frustrating is that their official list of what was produced when is wrong, so you often can't put what it actually does fit, and if you do have something that fits a variety of cars, well, that's a long list of fitments you're going to have to fill in. ebay sucks.

Ebay is an try searching for bmw 2002 parts you get anything with the year 2002 in the banner. frankly curse word this also effect saved serches they have just stopped working Ebay if your watching i will not be selling anything more on the site because my buyers can no longer find my parts with the curse word that now gets included in the search.
