so this is it atleast was, slight improvement me thinks: 1974 mk1,5 ford capri 2300gt this is wat it was like until a couple of weeks ago, when it was garaged due to a worn out back axle. bearings are beeing replaced about now, so will soon be back on the road ( i hope) thanks for looking, and feel free to comment.

finaly i' can update this tread, the pinon bearing has been replaced and i have claened the axle up a bit, before: and after: i have also decided to make the stone chipped rear and front valance yellow again: the rear the front before (i had allready removed the bumper) halfway tried the spoiler, but it's a bit too much yellow i think. so went for black and the result, i'm pretty chuffed with my brothers 360 peaking in the back

Very nice, glad to see those bumpers ditched! They were pretty hideous Looks so much better with the yellow front and back. Are you sticking with the 2.3 or moving up to something a bit bigger?

thanks, i do like the look of the rs, and i'm also concidering making the bonnnet black like the rs, but i don't want to make a replica so not sure on that yet, engine wise i was thinking of a 2.9 injection, but with a set of tubular manifolds the 2.3 is pretty quick, so i might wait with that and than go straight for the 24v cosworth in the future

I like what you have done with the look of this car so far. Looks much better for it. As for the looks, considered a Perana Capri look? OK, the louvred rear window is not to everyone's taste, but the rest of the package works well on the Capri IMO . I have the same issue as you on my car regarding stonechipped valances and am deciding on how to go about it. Did you go all the way back to the original paint, or did you smooth off the stonechip and paint on top?

i'm real happy with the outcome too i like the perana look, but without a v8... so it will probably stay like this, unles i find a nice set of minilites as for the stonechip, i have flattend it a bit, and rolled the paint on came out pretty good. the paint was remade by a company that can scan the original collor, it's not a perfect match, but you only see when looking closely.

That last shot just needs a huge roost on opposite lock.

looks like a lovely mk1, although i think i would have kept the slot mags myself. they looked pretty cool. looks miles better with the chrome bumpers though i must admit. IMO it needs de-bumpering altogether and slamming even lower. But I'm a young whipersnapper...

Massive improvement over how it was- bigods those bumpers were awful!
I think it looks great as it sits now- these cars are so pretty as standard anything too drastic runs the risk of messing it up- just my opinion of course. And there's plenty of replicas of various sporty versions knocking about- this is what it is and I think it's all the better for it.

thanks for all the positve comments! about the slotmags, i know what you mean, but they were rubbing on full lock, and in my head they were part of the US look that needed to go ;D the front bumper off looks quite good but without the rear it doesn't look right anymore. i'm just gonna try to enjoy the last days without snow and salt on the roads
