Ok so my inner sills are beyond putting a small patch in.
You can literally just push your finger through in most places.
Biggg patch needed so I can get it through an mot and use it for college.
To think if someone had spent an extra hour each side I wouldnt have this problem!
I wish I could weld, then i'd just sort them out myself.

Made a bit of progress lately. Welding has been done on one side: ![](http://a4.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/320866_10150417253558833_713413832_10282650_1842550514_n.jpg) Also managed to screw a tape player in place: ![](http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/s720x720/313441_10150417253518833_713413832_10282649_1776087910_n.jpg) ![](http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/s720x720/302963_10150417258268833_713413832_10282729_1439194884_n.jpg) Its not wired in yet, but in due course it will be. Its only temporary but its been converted to take my Ipod. I gutted the insides bar the amplifier because it wouldnt actually play tapes (the rubber band drive for the tape had gone soft), and blocked off the controls, so it basically acts as a volume control and looks pleasant instead of playing tapes. Thats all for now, will hopefully get the other side welded soon.

Right, did a bit more work today. Had the rear drums off, out came clouds of brake dust, so gave them a proper clean, put them back together, then greased the rear swinging arms. The attempted to do it to the front, but try as i might, i couldnt get the front ones off. So ive left them for now. Then i started to clean the boot up, for some reason they'd caked it in underseal, i assumed it was to stop rust, but then i discovered why. I was scraping away, and i hit a hard patch, assumed it was filler, but then it came off in one huge sheet. Seems to be fibreglass resin. It revealed a HUGE hole in the boot: ![](http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/s720x720/308490_10150418496013833_713413832_10290128_1245620430_n.jpg) ![](http://a6.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/301281_10150418495883833_713413832_10290125_1471616457_n.jpg) Something that definitely cant be ignored and is a huge pain in the ![](http://www.wired.com/images_blogs/underwire/2009/11/fox_60.jpg) . Damn bodges, and damn rust.

Right, we're getting there! My dad welded the other inner sill yesterday. And sorted the front brakes for me. Hes also greased the front ball joints, so as far as the front end is concerned, we're there. This meant i could get the interior back in, which ive been waiting ages to do. Here's the other side done: ![](http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/299846_10150428375623833_713413832_10343426_1590736637_n.jpg) Getting the carpets back in: ![](http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/s720x720/299325_10150428375838833_713413832_10343429_1976299793_n.jpg) ![](http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/310514_10150428376038833_713413832_10343432_1297397311_n.jpg) All back in! ![](http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/s720x720/316808_10150428376198833_713413832_10343436_1126991855_n.jpg) Ipod in its rightful place. Now thats all done, all i have to do is get the boot welded, and remake the boot liner and its done. Ive also got some soundsystem changes coming very soon, because the one in it at the moment sounds awful, but its only temporary so it'll do for now!

that is nice, good to see it being properly maintained. I do miss my old B reg Brown 1.0 ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) I had a big thin wooden and metal steering wheel and it was great fun to drive! I sold it to a bloke who was going to weld it up properly (as i have zero metal skills) and give it to his daughter for her brithday. I last saw it a few years ago whizzing up a back road in Canterbury, nice to know it was ok then! what stereo upgrades are you doing? i had speakers under the rear seat iirc

woodenspatulas, glad you approve ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png) As far as stereo upgrades, i bagged a 400w kenwood amp for £15 posted, so i'll be running a line in into that and having speakers in the front and rear. @850 mini, its a long road, but worth it! A tip - take corners in the wet like a granny or you'll fall off like i did countless times
