After loosing the white sierra for about a week, I was itching for another sierra skid car. After trawling through ebay, autotrader and admags, I found this beauty on ebay. 6months MOT ghia model with injection engine. It also had heated front and rear screen, onboard computer, front fog lights, electric windows all round, headlight washers, lumbar adjustable seats and retro fitted aircon! haha. The only downside is that its an auto. Ive had it about 2 weeks now and progress has been slow till the end of this week. So far its had the diff welded, most of the sound system out of the white one fitted and the front anti-roll bar and tca bushes replaced with poly items. Also spaced out the tca's for more castor: For the time being its gonna have the same springs as the white one, but I'm currently making a set of front coilovers for it. Picked up a pair of NOS front legs from sinjon for a tenner so got around to cutting the original damper out: Just need to find some inserts that are no bigger than 42mm external diameter and the body is no longer than 370mm, though I may be chopping the body down. The plans are, DIY coilovers for the front, protech rear coilovers, Ditch the aircon, front fogs, headlight washers, onboard computer. find some decent buckets for the front, dished omp wheel, mega lows. Compression struts (replace the front arb) adjustable tca's. rack spacers and then drift curse word out of it till I can afford a saab 2litre or 2.3 turbo engine conversion

till I can afford a saab 2litre or 2.3 turbo engine conversion DO THIS buy a gm900 saab, strip it, weigh it in and you'll have a engine for a tiny sum! I think you'd be better off with the 2.0 though, the 2.3 suffers more from sludging, where as the 2.0 didnt. you can map the ecu yourself with a bit of soldering and ecu fun and the torque in these engines comes in nicely so should suit a drifter. best mod I ever did in my car, shame its FWD If i can find a cheap 2.0 manual omega I fancy building a drifter myself!

Couple bottles of something ale-ish would do me fine. No worries, I didn't mention last time since you appeared to end up walletless for some reason

hahah the car has changed a fair fair bit since i updated this thread. Anyway after enjoying the boat like suspension and auto-box, its time to get started to get this thing drift spec. 1st thing i did was weld the diff, put the transit springs from my white one in the rear and fit the rear springs (minus 3.5 coils) in the front ;D Also got some 185/55/15 tyres for the 15' Wellers: DSC01381 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr DSC01379 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr Then with the new suspension I went off to Oulton park drift day. Sooo much fun, seriously consider this place if you want to have a go at drifting or want somewhere to learn. Perfect for noobs whilst still being challenging enough for the skilled people. By the end of the day I was able to link the whole track. Luckily they wet the track so the auto-box was ok, lock it in 1st and nail it, was hitting the limiter for most of the track ;D DSC01396 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr DSC01393 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr DSC01387 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr DSC01385 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr Though the car didn't come back unscathed! I managed to wall ride the tyres a few times and once, just after the tyres I dirt dropped the n/s/r wheel which flung big chunks of mud over the car ;D The exit of this corner was my preferred wall ride spot DSC01403 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr But this is my mum having a go! hahaha proper wall ride. lucky the tyres are not bolted down! My efforts of tyre wall rubbing (bring on Buxton's steel and concrete wall ;D) DSC01652 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr But that wasn't the worse of the damage. Had the privilege to have Mike Gaynor in the passenger seat for a lap so was giving it extra beans until i cocked up on the last corner and smashed the rear quarter into the tyre wall, smashing the bumper and bending the exhaust. DSC01562 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr DSC01563 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr Also Oulton Park gets your car pretty muddy! LOL DSC01632 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr DSC01636 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr Gave it a wash and it stayed like that till just before the gathering. Decided to paint the pair of 15's that still had ok tyres on and put the 14's up front, also painted the insides of the headlights too: DSC01349 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr DSC01351 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr DSC01366 by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr Some pics from the gathering: DSC01678 (Copy) by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr 302763_10150345714352456_647722455_9706621_2286342_n by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr 303024_10150345606572456_647722455_9704944_5298805_n by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr Though the auto box did make it feel as if i was going for a sunday drive lol 318843_10150268051827960_706432959_7779993_7992024_n by rtlkyuubi, on Flickr But this weekend has given me the mojo to finally convert it to manual. I kept most of the bits from the white one so was gonna be a pretty easy conversion. Already got a new clutch, clutch cable and speedo cable. So up in the air 2hours later Then come to put the new flywheel on and looked. curse word completely forgot about the spigot bearing for the input shaft. Rang up ford dealers to find one in stock! but in Chesterfield and they shut in 20mins. Since the sierra is out of action, all Ive got left is a 50cc moped! That would never get me there in time so now Ive got to wait till Monday where it will be at Worksop for me. Since the flywheel or gearbox couldn't go on till this comes, i did the other parts of the conversion. Pulled the clocks out to fit the new cable. Removed the old pedal box for the one with a clutch pedal. And removed the auto shifter. Once i get this spigot bearing on Monday I'm gonna crack on and try and get it done that night.

I like it like that hahaha thats nowt compared to what happened to my last one, but its all fixed now as the scrap yard run on the Saturday whilst at the gathering yielded a new uncracked bumper for £15 though it is from a saloon so doesn't fit that well
