Some updates :-) Had headgasket issues so am currently changing that, very easy job surprisingly and ignoring the gasket itself everything else is in great condition considering the age.

Yeah, I like that, with the wheels painted and a script it'll look pretty good!

thanks guys, some more updates later this week i hope, I'm moving workshops so should have more time to work on it. Heads off at the moment, getting it skimmed and valve stem seals done which only cost me 21pounds, 9quid for the seals on ebay and 12quid to fit them :-) can't go wrong there

Quick update, new head gasket in place, and while the head was off i smoothed and polished the intake ports and replaced my early valves for the later super smooth ones form a 87 2.5na which all together with an even compression has made a huge difference, only down side is its far too loud with my custom exhaust now so i'll be swapping it out for a more stock exhaust.
So guys, mirrors and handles are all on now, and decals on there way, so what colour should the wheels be? light gold? matt black? copper metalic? any ideas?

yea i think thats what i'd like to do if i had the cash, but can't justify spending too much on this project until i get my other project moving, so I'm just looking for a quick fix for now, either that or spending a lot of evenings rubbing down the lip.
Anyway, as i might have said before, since the rebuild my relativly loud exhaust is now to loud to live with, so i took a video for you all:

maybe just mask off the lips then paint the centres black, similar effect, but without the hassle of a polished lip?
or all black with red lips?
exhaust sounds loud on tickover, be nice to hear it when on full chat tho

Yea thats not such a bad idea, maybe the slim lip tape could be worth a shot of full black wheels.
Accent colour will probably be yellow as my stitching inside is yellow :-)

I think with a body colour like that, go for spraying the wheels orange to give it a Gulf feel... a bit like this.... Or, all black still looks good....

Looks really good in that colour, nice to see something a bit different, I would match the wheels and graphics colour to bring it all together. I keep thinking about some graphics on my charcoal grey 944 but it is a difficult colour to work with, I look forward to seeing yours with the wheels and graphics done, keep up the good work.

Went through my pics on my laptop last nigth and couldnt find the one i was looking for If yo go all black, then keep the tyres in back to black stuff so it looks fine - like that pic up there.. there's a set of black ones on the bay - LINKY HEREyou can se the tyres look brown almost up the side of the black.. and thats probably with a clean prior to selling however if you add a stripe on the lip to match somehting on the car, then it'll work - like D90's have - Ebay linky

Loving what you've done with this. Have you thought about a set of Design 90's? Sprayed satin black or a darker grey I think they would look good against the body colour.
