Sounds good Always up for a meet Small update, I have acquired a exhaust manifold from a mini, which seems to have the correct sizing and corners for the exhaust just need a bit of welding to make my custom exhaust. Not going for anything exciting, just sticking to a budget... so the plan, get the exhaust off and then use it as a guide... ...change of plan, get the car out of the garage, and get it back to the drive, its that time of year and more will get done and a couple pictures and fiesta in the background

Remember these cars from when I was a kid - I remember a maroon one that was really shiny, some old duck drove it, suppose it was only 4 or five years old then.
That car needs some hubcaps the raw wheels look too rough.
What the hell is anti climb paint??

We live in a rough-ish area and its like a tar or non drying paint, not nice, but keeps the kids away.

A small update today... I decided that although it was -2c and we had little to no light, i needed to take the exhaust off...
Now its sat in my shed awaiting some new tubing... I'm not spending £300 on a brand new exhaust... so I'm going to try and make one, i have exhaust tubing with bends in and can weld.
Just in need of a small box with 1.5" tubing entry/exit, which I think includes some minis? but not really sure, any suggestions?

I lopped the can out of its' original location on my Superminx after the engine backfired and blew it to bits- chopped the rear section off, put it in place with a sleeve and some gun gum... in place at the end was a Peco universal straight-through silencer. Mine with the 1592cc lump had a soft cam profile which meant it wasn't overly loud, but it was very buzzy! 209.62.195.168/sounds/minx.mp3 Old recording of it, heh. You may find a Mini box gives it that similar nasal rasp. --Phil

I think you might be right, kinda like it though, I've realised the answer might be under my nose... 1.1 fiesta sat on the drive with the correct size and shape box, hopefully has 1.5inch tubing

Missed out on the Cherrybomb, but have just placed an order for another exhaust due end of the week Little bit of chopping needed, but the diameter is right and the box is almost identical... Custom exhaust welding... bring it on ! ! !

Ready to go onto the car for a final test fitting before the last weld... Fitted first time, and now back home for a weld. Will get some pics of it on the car, the pipe comes out a little further but looks right on the car more than happy with it and finally progress being made. Lets just hope it sounds okay... the box is from a Mk1 Fiesta

Looks nice! I had to do similar welding on the new exhaust for my A35 due to the naff aftermarket so-called exhausts on the market.

Thanks Kev ;D Looks nice! I had to do similar welding on the new exhaust for my A35 due to the naff aftermarket so-called exhausts on the market. I found it difficult to find one for this and when I did it was rather expensive... and for me that is not what its about. Think I had quotes up to £600 for a complete custom system... so decided to do it myself... costing £42 in total and saving myself £558... WIN

Another update from a little while ago: Parcel shelf... smells funny and falling to peices, as it was... Strange foam-like substance... almost loft insulation... Trial fit... Trim to fit... Finished... From bed sheet to parcel shelf in under an hour

They might only be little updates, but they're worthwhile ones, always good for keeping the mojo ticking over. The little vid is great, it's not the camera man that lets it down but the camera with it's weird wobblevision.
