Morning all, as none of you may know... I recently finished my Mini project, has had new front end, bit of paint, little bits fixed and general tinkering. It was my learning car, okay its not perfect, but its my daily... So having decided that I quite enjoyed the last one, thought I would find another... I'm patient and 2 and half months of looking... this turned up. Its a 1958 Hillman Minx with rather low mileage. Check out the drivers note clipboard... I liked it, so I bought it. Now just to get it free (sat since before I was born) and home.

Awesome new project, under all the grime it looks solid as well which is always a huge bonus

There is no such thing as a curse word car just overstretched expectations................. Herald 10/10 Gasser 10/10 Total score 20/10

It is fairly solid... but has a hole in footwell, and work to cills and where arches meet sills. Common problems on these according to the small amount of research I have done on these. Just can't wait to dig in

Goodness thats pretty. Love the wrap around rear 'screen & lack of fussier additional-enlarged fins (Rapier). Shows off the Lowey Studebaker inspired styling. Just a shame they had to run the rain gutters down the rear pillar like that.

That looks really good. I know photos can be misleading but it really doens't look like its "hanging" at all. MOT in two weeks I reckon

Got down to the garage a couple days ago, had a little tinker. Everything looks so well preserved, quite shocking really. Bit of a clean up One of the many "no so good bits" more to come...

Finally found a place to get a key cut... just waiting for the postman.
No doubt as soon as it turns up, the previous owner will magically find a key.
Now... does it start ? ? ?

Posty brought the key... but no such luck unfortunately... to Beaulieu... any key cutters or maybe a complete barrell set

What a fantastic find! Love the styling on this era of Minx. I nearly bought one a few years back but it was utterly rotten.
I've got a bunch of old keys here, let me know the key number (should be on the ignition barrell, usually prefixed FA or FP) and I'll see if I've got one of the correct number.

Thanks, would be appreciated, I will let you know if it works tomorrow, we have managed to get a blank of the right size, and we have a key cut to the right pattern (we beleive) so should be sorted tomorrow
