That comes as a surprise, I hope it's nothing unpleasant that's prompted the sale.

That comes as a surprise, I hope it's nothing unpleasant that's prompted the sale. Unfortunately it is just time for it to go, time to make room for other projects (dads fiestas) and something different for me that can be stored outside

The convention would be to wish you good luck with the sale. I'm not going to do that, I hope you have to keep it and cherish and enjoy it because nobody will buy it

Back home! Thanks Matt, for being such a gentleman, and your old man's a good sort too (who happens to bear an uncanny resemblance to James Taylor)... I wimped out of the motorway bit, paid a recovery company to take it half way home for me so that I could just drive it for the second bit (country lanes). It's a wonderful car; the challenge is going to be maintaining it, and keeping it running sweetly, without having to do "restoration" type work that would destroy its beautiful patina. I understand that it's RR practice when a car changes ownership to start a new thread, so when I have something to share with you I'll do just that

I always thought a little bit Peter Ebdon Anyway, nice to see you made it back and thankyou once again, no doubt I will bump into the car again and hopefully a few SW meet ups in the area. All the best and please keep us informed Matt I will compile the image gallery and get that posted to you shortly.

Okay I said I would update this...
Last week as I was doing some final prep the day before our wedding and, I get an email from eBay that a new ad has been posted for a 1958 Hillman Minx...
So I left it a while to think things through, got married and had a great day, the following day I sent the deposit and booked my flights... the car made its way to Glasgow... I’m not anywhere near... around 400 miles!
So I’m sat in the airport now waiting for the flight then looking forward to the 400 miles of trouble feee motoring in a car that’s almost 60 !
Wish me luck! More pics when I can upload them!
