Feedback from the CaRS seems fantastic as expected, with a lot of people saying they don't wanna wait 12 months till we do similiar again ...
Yesterday i was speaking to Botch (the guy on the tannoy, for those that don't know him), who was saying that CaRS is pretty much his favourite show of the year now. He said that last year the Ultimate Street Car was his favourite, apparently the vibe was excellent, it wasnt full of chavs, and it was an awesome chilled weekend.
USC is on at the pod Aug 4-6, with a weekend ticket being £40. So, if we wanna do a show together again how about this one - we could easily organise a R-R club area.

At £40 i'd better start saving! ;D sounds like a good show i wonder why i have never been. If i'm doing any shows like fordfair or JAE etc i'll post in event section in the meantime

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

I'm gonna be there with Cruise-Stamford my local meet.. (who will hopefully have a new name by that time, as we are trying to drop the "cruise" title..

I'd be game.
What about a rolling-road meet sometime too, followed by a pub lunch (inspired by another one of my forums ;D)?

Thinking well ahead (specially for when I have a suitable car) I'd love to do an RR track day/weekend. the MR2 clubs was great fun and i knew only a handful, so it would rock if we did it.

Ah here you go then. You can book airfields for days, if there was enough of us it'd be pig cheap!
Could do our own autocross then ;D

This would be ultimate to have fun with the cars, and meet a few more folks without all the mad distractions going on at CaRS. Next time i'll be in driving seat (and not a passenger) with any luck

Got to admit I would love something like that but I know a lot of people arent keen on that kind of event. So it needs to be something with a good parking/camping area for maximum enjoyment

Yeah, i agree there PheonixC, I was surprised how many didn't have ago on the strip or the auto test, i thought it was just gonna be me. we could either arrange for a few of us to simply have a go for the hell of it or just make more of it. I just visited the MR2 day and just co piloting and chatting to the gang was worth the visit.

I think I should be able to make this, hopefully in the Allegro, it's not Ultimate or Street but it is a Car ;D I would also be up for a track day or autocross, ragging the Lada around that field was very addictive, it's not often you get chance to mess about in fields without a very irate farmer packing a shotgun turns up I had three goes in the end, someone on the forum got some piccies of it going "sideways" not sure who it was though

I prefer using the cars to showing them TBH So A Track day/Autotest/ drive around the country type thing is more what I would be interested in One of the other Forums I go on have a Meet every month at a local Pub which is a social thing and then they have a club stand at a lot of the shows and arrange track days and things too. They do Have an "Events" guy though which makes it easier. One Guy comes down to the Essex meet from near Chester ;D for the Pub/social meet ;D I think this is similar to what The Nightmares Crew do local meets and then attend the shows en masse For those of us who fancy a trackday or similar then we could always arrange to meet up on an organised track day ? Javelin are pretty Retro friendly and light on the Egos There is a Grass autotest near me in Warks somewhere either this week or next ? (Need to get details) and I have decided to turn up and have a go..... that was the whole Idea behind building this car in the first place.... drive it daily and play in it at weekends/evenings to learn how to drive properly again ...... autotesting seems like a good place to start refining my car control ;D Cheers Dom

From what I've been told its a fair mix of old and new, obviously the modern cars ARE gonna compete and try to run the fastest times on the day, that's what its all about.....
Paul "Botch" Venners seems to like it (commentator @ pod) and my Mrs said it was THAT bad, she did some modeling work for one of the people there last year.
Of course Bug Jam is happening at the pod in a couple of weeks, and that is a busy one, lots of VW's if they are your bag, but a distinct chav element, if you ignore that, and keep an eye on your things, its a good show with great entertainment.
Pricey, esp if you don't have a Volkswagen, but a great laugh.
