Good idea! The worst bit about the little SJ's is how much they love to rust!

Me and a mate of mine started to build one with a 2.0 zetec on hyabusa throttle bodies but he sold it in the end and purchased a v8 mk2 cortina instead...
Had some great fun in it though when it had the x-flow in it...

The size was a major factor, this one fits down my drive and I can walk past it, unlike my old Hilux! I'm off for some lunch then to find somewhere to play

Ive had a few of these in my time (Sj's and Samurai's etc)
If you need any advice about making them go a bit quicker or getting them a bit more off road friendly (on a budget) don't hesitate to drop me a line

love this, looks like the body was designed for it, wheel base lines up perfect, did it need much work to get it on there? (or am i being dense and it is a kit based on the sj) I'd have a bigger front bumper on it myself but its not mine and i guess it wouldn't help it off road, probably hinder it actually

They normally look like this: Escort based rwd on a ladder chassis - Mine is 2" longer at the front, and uses the SJ chassis and floor / bulkhead / inner arches, making it 4wd, and also due to the points system, it's allowed to keep its F reg rather than be a 'Q' Ratchet, the bumpers were made so as to make use of the best possible entry / exit angles..

Ratchet, the bumpers were made so as to make use of the best possible entry / exit angles.. yeah realised that after i posted it, wide bumpers wouldn't help that at all

Took the 'burro speciale' out again yesterday for a 4 hour play in the countryside, it's doing well! The only casualties so far have been my exhaust, which got knocked apart, and i broke the speedo cable on a log! Have a pic! ;D I'm trying to resist lift kits etc at the minute, I would like some more articulation though - would longer shocks achieve this? Pro Comp ES1000's look good for the money...

And a couple more. Was indeed a grand day mooching, I love this little thing. As for the dishes, they're ex MOD/NATO Tropospheric Scatter Dishes. From Wikipedia

you could put a d-flex kit on the front and rear shackles like mine

hello, for advice on lifting and more flex. join up over at suzukiclubuk.co.uk and difflock.com if your not already a member there add a leaf if a cheap way to gain a good few inches of lift but it makes the ride even harder. had add a leafs on my pick up but have recently gone to reverse shackle my flex with adds on, think this was the max for my brake lines at the time tho my daily off road
