I don't know too much myself, other than in AUS/NZ they are pretty popular amongst the retro crowd, putting them into things like Valiant chargers (hemi 6 in a valiant), instead of a boat anchor US 8. Also i think they get used as the V8 of choice by Aus rodders when they want something funky for a hibucks, hightech build. It's true, the Toyota V8 is used in all manner of things over here. People put them in Hilux's, Supra's, Soarers (although they do come factory in some models of Soarer), Corona's, MX5's, and AE86's, they're a fairly widely used transplant. The Nissan V8's are similarly used though they have a larger V so are a tad wider which leads to not fitting in as many cars as the Toyota V8. One of our DOCNZ member's in putting a Toyota V8 in his B110 Ute, (Datsun 1200 Ute) Should be something else when it's done I'm really looking forward to it.

On the subject of new engines in old cars, I wonder how well it would go, if you took a 240K Skyline, in satin black paint and steels with rings and hubcaps. Then stuffed it full underneath with R34 running gear, with an RB30, one huge turbo and an Apexi PF-C ecu. Would be pretty cool to pull up along the battlestar chavtastica everytime at the traffic lights, and then nal it. That's the same sort of thing as one of my ultimate daydreams: E3 BMW (not the coupe) with modern M5 running gear ;D

And if you stick on a big supercharger, you've blown a goat. Do you want to be known forever as someone who blew a goat?
