Got back at 11 ish last night, have to say it was freeking awesome! Far too much beer was consumed, as per usual! The drive there and back was awesome, loving the french roads! Was stoked at how well captain dave kept up with the big boys of the convoy (my bro's tr6 engined gt6 with a lots of tweakage, and a 3.9 morgan plus 8) us 3 were playing rather well! Only saw one other mk1 aswell! And i got to drive part of the circuit!!! Too many laughs (and beers) were had, my body aches from random injuries! Anywho, enjoy the photos (they're gonna be constantly added too!) Here is a few to start you off: The Convoy: The Ducati in our convoy (porn on 2 wheels): Lovely van in the campsite: 80's cool: 007: The Lambo: Le Mans cars Campsite Cars

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

Another awesome year at Le Mans ! We are already planning Le Mans 2007 (well there are only 363 days to go you know) ! Saw some great racing, some uber cool classics and had plenty of laughs. When I get round to resizing and uploading I'll get some images on here. I just need to sort them out, I took 400+ pics and about 45 mins worth of video. DarrenW ... I'm coming for you, the title of 'Pic King' will be mine ... ;D

Cool post. I'm going to Le Mans next year for sure, I done a feature on the R10 the other week, 650bhp and 1100Nm of torque. Particle filters means it doesn't produce any black smoke. The drivers say it's so quiet they have to rely on the shift light to change gear!

I spotted that ;D Looked like the only rod up there this year Next year might be a different story - the guy I went down with is a big rod enthusiast & was so impressed by the event that he vowed to go back next year & take his hot-rod mates along too (I think mainly to show the Ferrari, Porsche & TVR boys how to do a proper burnout ) It was my first LeMans & to say I enjoyed it would be an understatement - lots of awsome cars, great atmosphere - & theres apparantly a motor race that goes on too ;D Will never forget the impressive sight of seeing these mighty race cars driving in the darkness - headlamps & brake disks ablaze, spitting flames on overrun. Alot of people moaned that the Derv Audis didn't sound like proper race cars - but I rather liked the subtle tone they made - backed up by the whistleing turbos, so damn effective I find it rather strange that as such a large event - followed by so many Brits, if you didn't have Motors TV, the only clue you'd have from the perspective of the general public that the event took place is just a small piece in the back of the paper BTW; I got a picture of that Flatnose 911 aswell - it was parked just the otherside of the road from where we were camped. There were so many nice cars that you could never capture them all on film - loved the fact that after a while, you get used to seeing Astons & Ferraris & find yourself marveling at the clapped out old French tin in the carparks for the local employees of the various stalls & bars etc

just got back home this morning, will add my pics and video once i get them off the camera. Had an awesome time, it nearly didnt go that way tho - shortly outside calais some yaris had a blowout at about 80 in the curse word rain and went straight into the concrete central reservation. It was level with my mate, and two of us were behind. How none of us got collected i don't know.
BigWig i can well believe that, the R10 is silly quiet. Apparently peugeot are working on a diesel entry for next year also.

Nice to see you guys enjoyed LeMans. It is something I am considering to do next year. And this post is making me consider it more!
I thought the only reason the Audi won was because they had a much larger budget to play with compared to their competitors, or so I was told anyway. But it's nice to See the Corvette faired well in a way

chasr, its an awesome event - the atmosphere around is fantastic!
true, audi have a large budget but you gotta use it right. Pescarolo arent short of funds, they have some real serious sponsors and a proven car. There were big question marks over the reliability of the R10.
i wanted to see the aston beat the corvette, but the corvette was giving us some aweseome flames - kept us cheering (and therefore awake) during the night! lol. Very impressive to see the corvette as high as 4th (i think) and ahead of all the LMP2 cars!

pity the 'vette won buddy jeff was on the aston team, one of the drivers when the pace car came out, decided to run up a kerb and break an oil line which meant back in the pits, and the 'gentleman' driver in the other aston decided to fry the clutch so it mean having to get the gearbox out to replace said clutch. at that point the aston was going to win...with 2 hours to go. hence the yanks won. ho hum! still love watching the astons though, sexiest car on the track by far.
