Nah, don't bother with anything not v-tec, not worth it. All other engines are curse word.

It's standing around waiting for it's test on tuesday, and if all goes well, will be getting a proper beating with the lowering stick the same night, and the finished article will be seen sporting wellers wednesday evening.
Although i'd guess it fails the mot test in some spectacular way, and ends up behind my garage until someone buys it for 3 beers and a hubcap, and it ends it's days on the banger track.

They're quick for a big car but it's more of a sedate "cruise at 120mph without breaking a sweat" quick rather than a traffic light grandprix winner. Do 140+mph flat out though which isn't bad for a big old barge.

^^^That, although with the boost turned up they are far quicker than anything that big and made in France has any right to be. We were only talking about them the other day as a mate had one years ago. Try finding one now though! For that matter try finding any R25 now!

I'd love an r25, a v6 turbo would be awesome, but watch out for rust, rust, electrical problems and rust. Engine is the PRV so pretty solid, but the cars were never common and are now scarce.
I remember reading somewhere about how many were left, I can't remember the numbers mentioned, but it was very low, much lower than the never popular GTA.

If you're thinking luxury quick barge for not a lot of money I can heartily recommend the Lancia Thema. I'd even say mines quicker than the plastic GTA  |

my father and me had a fleet of txi's that we used to minicab, we used to buy all the 18td's and early 21td's (not turbo like the badge lies to you), and it wasa straight swap into the 25...25 diesels were available across the water, but not here.
I'll always remeber the first one we ever bought, a green v6 with no oil pressure.

Notice the 1964 renault 8 in need of restoration. Ive seen that, it says about the museum in cornwall, its just down the road from where I used to live I remember seeing that car there but never knew what it was as had never seen it before. |

If you are looking for a luxo barge in turbo french flavour, how about an XM? I had a non turbo off of t'bay for £300 and it was ace!    Easier to get parts for too |
