Afternoon guys.
Last night while sitting in the evening sun, myself and a few retro lovin mates asked each other, what we would have or do with £4000 on our motors.
Why £4000 you ask, well 4k is within easy reach of most people, which means its not a stupid question.
So then tell me what you would have or get?
I will tell you mine later.

sort a decent "day van" come camping interior for the van, sort the crusty pannels out, get some new AVO shocks on it then use the rest for fuel and use it

*rummages down back of sofa* Nope, no £4k there Anyway.... turbo / super charger for the BMW. But I'd have to pay someone else to do the work as I am too thick to do it myself. Coil spring set-up on the landy and a nice big modern turdo-diseasel engine for it too. And some lovely comfy seats with the change.

I think for myself it would be £3000 on the engine, and £1000 on the suspension setup all this for the Midget. Or I would buy a Westfield.
P.S. don't mean to sound funny with the "most people thing". Its just 4K is more Obtainable than saying 20k.

£4k is a fair amount, will power or loan its within most peeps reach.
I'd buy a Yank to trick out,
or Paint the Sierra + get it roadworthy, and rebuild the MR2 with abit more budget.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

£4k within reach? Not with my mortgage / work situation! Still.... £1k on Escort respray, and Sniper's Dunlop alloys if he still has 'em. £1k on various bodywork for the blue Sapphire. Leaving £2,000 for a 302ci small block. Followed by regular diff renewal. ;D ;D ;D

Hmm, I wish £4k was in my reach! I know what you mean though I'd buy a 560 SEC or SEL for about £800, disembowell it and stick the innards into the W115. Then go and get my half-completed turbo V8 from oop north and have a bash lashing that lot to the new lump. Set aside another £200 for tw@tting around getting it to work. Go to MaxHydraulics and get a nice shiny airbag system - £2000 (?) Then... probably buy a small retro with the other £1k for when I can't afford to fuel the Benz ;D

Ok 4k is a long way off most modest waged people living in 'rip off Britain', I know i'm trying it! but its a good way of realising the modest wish lists we have like paint/ wheels, we don't want much for christmas at all do we?! plus bit by bit it can be spent (in theory!) 302 in the Sapph for the win Jonny!
