I've heard the boot is very pokey and the aircon is tempremental and costly to repair on those cars, I would stick to a Daewoo Matiz

I cant belive this is on the second page already, Ill give you some snippets from the article to keep it on the boil!
"to build a car using Kawasaki’s 440cc two stroke two cylinder snowmobile engine. The design concept they had in mind was along the lines of a mini version of the Can Am racers which were very popular in those years"
"Harvey built the car the old fashioned (pre computer) way. You made a sketch, roughed out the measurements, got some metal and went to work. He built an aluminum monocoque tub with square tubing for the sub frames. He preferred round tubing but square was what he was told to use so square it was. The aluminum sheeting was bent over the edge of the workbench. A small machine shop down the street made hubs and spindles while the local salvage yard sourced the rack and pinion steering and other minor parts."
Its built the way we build cars, by hand in a small workshop, so come on, whos first???

two strokes for teh win! i don't have time right now (gotta go to scrap yard) but there is lots o russian cars that used two strokes as well, Wartburg was one, and i know that there was racing car made outta the wartburg (which was FWD) by plonking the engine in the rear, looked like a mini gt40ish.

Not only does it look great and must have been a barrel of laughs to drive but quality of workmanship looks great too. eg. All those lightening holes in the front frame holding the brake scoops.

Currently working on a plan that includes a space frame chassis, mini suspension geometry, an R1 engine and a basic of c/f bodywork similar to the above. Going to be as production car based as possible and hopefully less than 6k to build, but the devil is in the detail, and we've been working on the plans since I sold the Strikerblade over a year ago. The Kwaker above is possibly the prettiest BEC/lightweight track car I've ever seen, though.

now thats my kind of car, and without a nod towards any saftety type stuff really...awesome. its stuff like this that inspires me, in the age of overcomplicated everything, its nice to think awesome racing cars used to be hammered out in a similar fashion to what i could achieve..with a fraction more money and some hammering out skillllzzzz..
