Spent a couple of hours this morning doing a huge post, pressed preview and was told Proboards was down for backing up data or something; so I've lost it basically.
I highlighted it all before I pressed preview and CTRL+C'd it so that nothing like this would happen, then I decided to add a couple more pics so obviously the stuff I'd highlighted wasn't the thing that would be pasted if something went wrong; it'd be the URL of the last pic and I then forgot to CTRL+C the thing again before I previewed it. I know I should have been more careful and pasted it into an email in the first place but I shouldn't have to; there should be a ''save post'' option or something.
I know it's Proboards' fault, not RR but is there any way it can be recovered, does everything get saved to an admin-only area or anything?

Sometimes the "back" button works. And i'm rather sure nothing that doesn't get posted get's saved anywhere

same would have happened if there was a save button too, pressed save and if the forums down its down..
best bet is if its a long post - always press copy and paste it elsewhere first..
or instead of clicking preview right click and ask to open in a new tab..

I've had a similar problem writing a Wiki entry. It'll let me save the title but anything else returns an error and loses all my info. The back button doesn't work either. It's properly bummed me out as I spent ages typing stuff up. There was a message to say that an error report had been sent but that doesn't really do me much good

Damn,.. sorry about that. Thought the wiki was working 100% (other than the problem with having a . in the title)..
I'm really pleased you tried to contribute, I'm sorry it didn't work out. I'll have a look and see if any error log contains your entry. Similar advice to the above applies here, write out stuff in notepad and have a saved copy of it in case of failure if it is a very long piece.

How will we know when its fixed?
