The bush knock may be a metric bolt in an imperial bush - common issue especially with the long rocker arm bolt. I saw your reply on Facebook, thanks. I'm taking it somewhere next weekend for a sanity check on everything, so hopefully I can diagnose better then. Would be nice if tightening the bolt to clamp the inner sleeve was the (short term) solution! I'm looking forward to seeing it on track............... I'm looking forward to taking it on track!! 😀

Well then I've not really done much recently... I took it for a blast on Sunday down to see Colonelk, which allowed me a few opportunities to stretch it's legs on a nice open derestricted road. It's fast! The lower tyre pressure seems to have taken away some of the twitchiness, but I think a lot of it is me getting used to something so raw and direct. I think the brakes are improving with bedding in. There's an occasional slight knock, which I discovered is coming from a sloppy bush in the RHS lower wishbone. No point doing alignment until that is swapped out. Sadly no pics, but I had a very enjoyable morning in it!

Mini update The tyres were at around 25psi, so I let them down to 20 all round. Also checked nut torque and tried fitting caps, got 2 on and 2 were proving difficult so I'll come back to them. I've also been looking at replacing my knob. Here's the 'as bought' The wood is ok, but not the vibe I'm after. The previous owner had seen fit to glue this on... So the threads were full of hard glue I spent about 10 mins trying to scrape it out then gave up and bought a die nut. And here's the new one That's a genuine little Honda piston from my C50 twiddling days, with a 3D printed adaptor for a 17mm internal hex (M10 nut) to 13mm gudgeon pin. Then a pair of M10x1.25 nuts glued into the hole. I want to check the alignment and still need to sort out the cold start. Then use as much as I can before a certain weekend in May...

... find myself on the computer looking at more projects.... PM incoming Good progress on the Gemini though. I spent the weekend looking at a potential new gearknob for the Fury. I stress looking at, not actually doing

There's an online catalogue for lengths and end fitments and then you can search RockAuto for part number - that will be the cheapest way

I agree with Horrido - I thought going away from the low lights was a bad decision - but you've definitely pulled it out of the bag - that's going to look really good

I'm pretty sure the tyres are around 20psi, but will double check.
The pads are brand new, so have only had 30 miles of use, hoping they will bed in after a few more drives. I'll definitely check the mounting area and pedal arrangement. It may just be that it's very different to my A2 😂
As for the wolfrace, I still have them and no intention of getting rid. Currently thinking of fitting some stickier tyres... I would really like a pair of 6s to replace the 5.5s though

Really liking the wheel choice . Somehow adds to the ‘period correct’ kinda vibe it has . Be nice if you could loose a little tyre to arch gap , but that’s just my opinion . (Think I remember you saying you might be working on that ?) 👍 Thanks! I'm pleased with the overall look, although like you say it would benefit being a touch lower. The sump to ground clearance is borderline as-is, going off other people's greater experience. It already has a shallow sump fitted... In the short term I may try winding down the coilovers a touch, but given the state of the roads I don't think I can go much lower. Longer term I would need to raise the engine, which has a lot of ramifications.

Long time update: We've had a few days without so much rain and it's a bit warmer, so... I drove it to work today! 2nd time driving, ten times the distance (15 miles vs. 1.5 miles) I was nervous again, been several months since I drove it last, but it was awesome fun! Not the best car to deal with traffic, but ok after some time mastering the clutch. Brakes are soft now, but it's got brand new pads and I was wearing work shoes with wider soles than ideal. A quick squirt shows around 1 bar of boost (I was curious!) it's fast! There's a couple of mechanical noises which I'll look into and I think I need to rebalance the wheels. The ride was pleasantly surprising, I remember it being a bit firm but it soaked up bumps pretty well. Really looking forward to the drive home!

I'm gonna chip in for the 'keep' vote.
Custom or hidden catches would be too modern, these fit the vibe of a period hot rod from first glance, with clever touches the closer you look.

That's categorically not George...
There's a green beetle that hasn't appeared to move, and a big house that got knocked down where the fenced off bit is. And a Corolla (?) has appeared in the fenced off bit between 2018 & '19

I kinda like that - the vibe is good but I think the arch treatment wreaks havoc with the original beautiful lines. It would be cleaner with radiused arches instead of flares

At the risk of sounding patronising, if you've established the turbo is boosting and the intercooler/piping is the only bit left, I would be looking at the intercooler being blocked.
Boost leaks of that magnitude (all of it) should be pretty audible. I drove a hire van with a blown intercooler pipe and it made a colossal whooshing noise without the corresponding forward motion.
Could you use your test device poo pipe thing to see whether there's much restriction through the cooler? EDIT: re-reading your previous test, did you observe swelling of hoses between turbo and cooler? Or just 'carb' hat to cooler?
I also agree with not giving up now - you've come an awfully long way and really close to glory

Ha ha, thanks for the mention! That green one has just sold (again) at 6k and there's a blue c20xe powered one active on eBay too (finishing tomorrow). Bit like buses... And yes, this weather can F off

The restriction would be from inlet/outlet size, which could well be on the small size given how much you'll want to flow. you can get cheap, new intercoolers in all manner of designs, I would have thought a small one with 3" piping wouldn't restrict too much and have some effect. If painted black it could blend in to the engine bay somewhat? I did wonder if it could go behind the rad, above the ancillaries? Would get fed with hot air though... Edit: A chargecooler would look right and could be subtly plumbed into a more discreet rad? Edit edit: in fact something like this could go on the bulkhead and has dual outputs for your carb hats late BMW charge cooler (need to check flow directions etc)
