Looks much better How about cut-n-shut the bottom rear section and lose the quarter windows ? very rough photoshop Thanks Jimi That looks good, you can see why I'm tempted to try and make what I have work... There's a couple of issues, the top of the old screen opening is contacting the roll bar. I'm tempted to cut that out and tilt it back to mate the lower screen opening, but the widths are different because of the chop. Plus the rear deck isn't actually flat in either direction and everything is curved in plan view too... I'd like to keep the roof openings, but they start to curve down a fair bit at the rear. Si I'm basically into redoing anyway. My current plan is to cut the roof section just behind where I've attached the brace, and the sides from the B pillars. Then form a buck from thin ply strips & ply board ribs and then glass over that. I think it has a baby corvette vibe to it, so an interpretation of of the C3 corvette shooting brake is my intention. Like these, but a bit... less

NOW SOLD I got these to try in my kit car but they're too wide. Great condition, missing some vents/rivets from one seat, but I have a couple spares. Both have runners, one set not attached. I believe these are BB seats as found on eBay for £400+ Collection from Sussex or I can facilitate pony express SOLD

This weekend I had a proper clear out of the garage, got rid of a car full of stuff to the tip and found things homes on the shelves. I also did a roof chop Mark up: Choppy choppy: Very crudely reattach I then set about bracing it a bit as I'm going to have to remove more of it before I can start to craft the new one. But I think it's a huge improvement already, the roofline is WAY better Then I took some more pics with the targa panels laid in place. I'm in a bit of a quandary where to take it tbh. I'm actually quite happy with the shape of it, if it was finished. The proportions are good, the height is exactly what I was aiming for. I could try and cut and shut the roof and fill the gaps, but I think the curvature would be off in a lot of places. The next option is to basically cut it away from the deck upwards and B pillars backwards and redo the whole thing. The latter was what I was expecting to do, so I should probably just get on with that...

I finished fitting the hinge last night after some family related delays (they're away this whole weekend so couldn't really justify time in the garage) Was a pretty difficult job, access to the hinges is hard with the bonnet closed! A magnet on a stick helped get the nuts started though, then it was straightforward. Good news is they work! The plastic joiner to reconnect the 2 halves isn't really up to the job, so I'll replace that soon. I've also bought some tailgate stay wires as the hinges are now very free running. BONUS: the dzus bonnet catches now work easily! I think the bonnet was moving progressively forward with the failing hinge. Today is a proper garage tidy up and hopefully a start on the roof.

You could have a search for formula Ford wheels - used to be some nice stuff in that PCD for small race cars. Mad'in seemed to be fairly common, e.g. old ad

Yeah man, I'll come help. I'm close enough to chip in as and when (weekday evenings), but if you need a shift putting in with some planned bigger jobs then I'm sure HARDCORE and Colonelk would help out too

My missus had a 107 for a couple years and it was great - reliable, cheap to fix (not that it needed much), cheap to run, tax and buy. Reckon you'd be hard pressed to beat that.
Only other option is an Audi A2. I've got a TDI and it's fantastic as a daily. But it's not ULEZ. However, the 1.4 petrol are I believe
Good luck

This continues to be utterly awesome...
That dash will cause a lot of head scratching and questions, but I'm sure you'll make it look original as per your truck. Excellent stuff

Is that the same basic engine as the one in the supercharged T-Bird Supercoupe? When I was trying not to buy this, and encouraging other people I know to buy it, I read that it is the same base 3.8 as the T-bird. It should also take most Fox-body suspension stuff, so there's a world of aftermarket options

Similarly to Rich I had the wants for this, but no room. So I'm 50% glad I can't buy it and 50% disappointed I can't buy it...
Super glad it's ended up here though.
Looking forward to seeing what you do with it (lows and wheels yeah?)

But where are our Tony's new wheels pics? The car's still up in the air pending bonnet refittal... The wheels are on and look great, but the camera angle is whack in my full garage. The hinge fix seems to have worked, I'm half way through fitting it back on this afternoon, but family stuff means that's it for today.

Hang on, I know this car, worked out who you are on the forum! I’ve only known you like 10+ years in real life. God I completely suck at forum-IRL connections Hahaha! It's normally the other way round! Going to reiterate last weekend's conversation and encourage you to come to the Weekender!

I got the front hinge frame off, it's definitely broken! This is the good side This is the not-so-good side Plan is to attach the plate bit to a new piece of tube that is large enough to take a plastic bush. I printed these at work The bigger bits are some clamps because I've got to cut the frame to get the new hingey bit on...

Ahh fek. This would be an altogether easier outcome, but it that doesn't come off then you're welcome to bring it down for some welding if you thing it'll take it. Or fab a new one? Cheers man, as it happens I've bought some stock and think a fix/new bit is the best route (especially given how I've tried and failed to buy things from them before) I'll message you about timings

If you're going to change the flywheel and wiring, you'll have done the hard yards. The exhaust downpipe and intercooler are the pretty much the only remaining 'hard' bits Have a read of this, written by bugjam1999: Volvo forum threadAlso have a look at my old volvo thread

I'd love to know a bit more about this...: Is it a supercharger?? Is that the inlet looking a bit like an exhaust manifold? And this is just lovely

I don't know of any garages in particular, but if you can work an engine crane and a socket set, they're about as straight-forward as it goes.
A garage will charge you upwards of £50ph to do it and you're looking at a decent amount of time
What year 240 is it? This can affect how easy things like the wiring are
