Can I just say, the support I've had on here has been fantastic. Nearly 40,000 views too, amazing. There have been some tough times since we started this, but sometimes all I need to do to get my mojo back is look through this thread to see the progress that's been accomplished, and absorb some of the positive vibes from my fellow Retro Riders. Thanks. I do love this little section - it has a huge amount of variety mainly due to good "RR people" like yourself "sharing" so if you feel the positive vibes then they are only as a result of the share you started in the first place

Well I've very much enjoyed my Sunday morning - reading this thread from start to finish - great work on a lovely old barge
Hope the gearbox and distributor fixes resolve the current lack of forward momentum an improve the running

Oh I was wondering what the best way with my limited equipment was to tub my rear arches - I think I've found my inspiration - excellent work

Again this it was all quite complicated as I was working in two planes, and to imaginary reference points. It was also at this point I cocked up, but it took me a good while to recognise it. Thinking the X member was in the right place, i made a jig to centre it around the gearbox mounts, and welded it in at the front, tweaked the bent back legs to where they should be, and welded those too. That will come back to cause me loads of problems later... Plot twist - I do like a good plot twist

The anthracite is definitely up there at minute as the favourite. Brakes stand out from behind them. Don't look as "cheap" as a bright silver. Won't be instantly mucky. Definitely in with a chance.. You know this makes sense Having said all that. Il probably change my mind again and theyl end up fluro pink or summat haha. This wouldn't - The flo stuff fades in seconds And thanks everyone for taking the time to voice your opinions.. I must have done something right since no-one has said it looks awful yet haha "Can't say something nice say nothing at all" - They are all keeping quiet

I get it on three email addresses........ (Mainly because I am trying to kill two of them) I only open it and read it on the first one I see But I've only ever done that!!! gmail goes straight in my inbox - This would be very bad for the RR events if it went to Spam HoTWire will know why sky (Yahoo) goes straight to my inbox hotmail (Outlook) goes straight to spam - no matter how many times I tell it it's not spam!!!! (Outlook must really hate RR)

What about a bronze type colour for the wheels, that could look good. The same kind of colour the Rota's come in. Bronze Rota stylie and a blacked out intercooler [why is intercooler always said in Arnie's voice in my head?] I like that

Has it really been that long? Wow... Scarily, I still have the same cars I had when I joined back in July 2004. That's quite an achievement Paul, I wonder how many other people can say the same? I'll get me coat - I still have the some of the same cars

This looks great! ^ This one My reasonsThe Black wheels causes the tyres and rims to merge into one and you lose the detail of the spokes and rim size and you are down a "murdered out" route The Yellow wheels means the brakes don't "pop" from behind the wheels The White wheels - well I'd just hate to clean them all the time and it's more a Rally Slag look But the Anthacite well that's just perfect- the yellow brakes "pop" from behind and the differential between tyres and rims is there plus it doesn't make the car "murdered" JM2pW

I joined late in 2006 - having resided mainly on "one make forums" (Opel Fruit see) and one other large motoring forum - was amazed to see the variety on here and the "appreciation" even if it wasn't strictly peoples tastes
I only liked Opels (and fringe Opels) when I started now I like a lot of different stuff (although I may not want to own it)
That and the fact the rules are simple - the participants are nice and the variety has never changed
"vive la difference"

Well, for those who are interested. Had my second redundancy discussion today, again, completely without emotion, delivered from a script. Legal and all that. I have been selected to keep my job, based on performance in 2020. So my mortgage manager will be happy I guess. Good news if you like the job Mrs BC has been told the team is slimming from 4 to 1 so requested for voluntary redundancies in order to avoid compulsory She's be on Furlough since June last year - She's said I'll take redundancy (trouble is I think there have been 4 requests for Voluntary)
