Yep, I realised it had been 4 years since sharing an image on here (I seem to have lost the account that was hosting all the images posted on this thread, so I see they have all now disappeared?!) The car will be rolling on the streets in a couple of months time, it's just having a new dash and interior fitted. @volksangyl should be proud that his original photoshop image turned out so well I would say even better than the Photoshop! Looks like you extended the doors too? It looks amazing, do you have more pictures?

Awesome! Love the front grille on that too! Do you know where the number plates came from? They have that proper period looking font on them Edit: actually they look like the A1showplates style, the number '4' doesn't look right in their Euro style font sadly

It may not look like much but to me it's a huge difference. Looks like a fairly large transformation to me - it's bloody hardslammed now! Top stuff!

I must admit, I really like the background music going on. Really chilled out stuff! Are they from the same compilation or how about a Spotify playlist for your loyal fans? haha Agreed though, they're good lighthearted videos and easy to watch - good efforts!

x2 - the extended quarters will look much nicer than bolt on arches I think. Also interested to see you tackle that

Where abouts are you? I've got the engine & gearbox out of my Vitara that you can have for nowt if it'd be of use? There are RWD boxes available too off the X/90. Probably got some tyres too if you let me know a rough size you need. Could even link the Vitara engine up to a Suzuki SJ box (separate transfer box with those)

That really is a bit of a rotter! Good job you can separate the nice body off that and re-do it all. Great build though, I do enjoy a good Volksrod.

Wow, you really did get close then if you were at the point of MOTing it!
I think we can all relate to the huge demotivation a project often brings when it gets like this. I'm relieved to see that you just parked it up and are waiting for the mojo to return.
It seems as if all the hard work is done, it's just decided to be a pain and hit you in the wallet instead!

That was the kind of of response I was hoping for Chris! You're 340 looks really nice on those wheels, is it the saloon version? Thanks! It is indeed the saloon version, they seem a little less common than the hatches. As most people have also mentioned, they are very slow. If you want a decent RWD car (drifter or not) then an MX5 or BMW E36 will certainly be a better choice. Why did I not choose one of them? The Volvo is just different, they're a good cheap retro which I think can look pretty cool. It makes me smile driving it, feels solid and chuckable. Think of it as a 70s car really: leaf springs, carbs etc.

I like mine It's never let me down yet, used to be my daily but now more of a toy. Parked it up for 8 months at one point and it just started right up. It's the most reliable car I've owned and I have a Lexus LS400. Propshafts, I guess it depends how hard you abuse it... haven't heard of many people busting the props on standard engines unless they're being aggressive. Mine was my first car on the road and I thought it was ideal: RWD fun but not enough power to really endanger your life. They're pretty awful on fuel if that matters much to you? Don't expect to have lots of choices when it comes to mods either. Limited aftermarket bits are available, otherwise expect to be making stuff yourself or fettling parts from other makes / models.
