Wow, not seen one of these for years. My dad had a 'H' plate one in black in the mid 90's, seemed a very quick capable car at the time when I was 14/15. Looking forward to seeing the progress on this

Heater controls generally require small hands Remove the MFD at the top, pull the heater knobs off by pressing in a small tab at the side iirc. Then you can pull away the facia and replace the tiny bulbs, 1 for each heater knob and 1 for the slider (I think).

I would also add to be wary of pattern header tanks, I bought an eBay one which failed after less than 1k miles and left me stopping at every services up the M6 this summer on my way home from a show to top up the water, mine split on the middle seam where the two halves join and was escaping like a boiling kettle!
Great job on the car though, generally speaking Corsa b's are super reliable, a fantastic first car!

Looks like a good buy, looking forward to seeing the progress with it.
Whats the plan? Keep it standard and enjoy it for what it is or mod it?

What a great read! A beetle is one of those cars I've always wanted but not yet got around to owning, maybe in 2019! Keep up the good work and keep the updates coming

Last few months has been spent going to shows and generally enjoying the car, I'm quite gutted it is about time for it to be tucked up for the winter! A few pics of this summer.. Did a charity event at Lookers Vauxhall.. VBOA show.. Footman James Classic Car Show in Manchester last weekend (fantastic show!) Plans for this winter is to sort the exhaust situation, not sure what that will be yet, a return to standard or a custom system but I don't really want a boomer of a system...

Busy morning on the Corsa today, when I fitted my 421 manifold a while ago I had to pull and twist the exhaust system to get it to fit, since then it's been knocking and generally annoying me, been daily driving this the last couple of weeks which tends to spur me on to fix issues, today was the exhaust. Full system removed and all refitted in the correct position hugging the floor. Wasn't a terrible job but by the time I was finishing up at 1pm it was getting warm! I've also managed to resolve an issue with the coilovers where the top mount nuts would work themselves loose and it would start to knock on the front end and generally feel a bit horrible, bit of threadlock has solved that issue. Slightly non-retro I fitted a Sony Xplod mechless headunit so I have some slightly better quality audio, I have always used the original headunit but it's on it's last legs and was beginning to really bug me. Its the VBOA show next weekend so hopefully all that is required before then is bit of a cleaning session That said, for two weeks of daily driving which equals about 500 miles, it is still looking pretty clean

Best seats ever made I think. Looks to have made it a much nicer place to be. Yep, they certainly have, it's not really been back in the garage since they went in

Nice little car you have there, suffering many of the classic 'aged' Corsa b issues but as you're finding, all nice and easy to resolve I'm about to replace that headunit in mine, always used it with a tape / 3mm jack into my phone

Thank for the positive comments, I've never done anything interior wise in any car I've had but I'm really pleased I went for these! crossy10 I got the centre badges from Etsy.com. They're not as nice as the original but a pretty good reproduction!

Rs turbo was 130bhp if I remember right the gsi 155. Either I had a very good gsi or a very bad turbo but the gsi would knock spots of the rs turbo. I was thinking the same tbh

They're brilliant, love them what trimmer did you use? My bolster is knackered and I can't find anyone that will take it on, and seats are getting hard to come by now:( Thanks I'm extremely happy with them! This chap did them, great guy and IMO, reasonably priced. Not too far from you either.. www.facebook.com/phoenixautotrim/Let him know you got his details from Ian with the Corsa
