The passenger side electric wing mirror was the highest spec possible for all w126 if I'm not mistaken. The commutable switch from a '92+ w124 drops right in, but you also need to change out the connector, add the wiring and retrofit the motor into a w126 mirror, probably more of an undertaking than it's worth.
Cruise control is nice, but mine didn't work and I never got the chance to look into it while I had my car.
Heated seats should be a pretty easy retrofit and I would look into it if I were you. The seat elements from MB are dirt cheap and the switches are simply mounted on a different shape of coin tray in front of the gear selector.
As for electric seats; I rather have a car without than with. I'd only consider it if I'd use the two memory positions all the time (if wifey also drives the car for example).
Cheers!

Awesome car! Pretty much my favorite specsheet too: SWB series 2 w126, Champignon leather, burlwood trim, manual A/C... Congrats!

A truck would be awesome, but they're insanely pricey around here. To keep with Jan's bang for buck theme, I'm thinking something that was sold in the Euro markets; Cadillac Seville STS with a Northstar would be my best guess

You should take out the carpet to let it dry, you'll be happy to have done that if it's still in good shape since you can't get the carpet from MB anymore (in black at least), and the intermediate rubber layer gets pretty fragile with age. In the mean time if you're going to park the car, try to park facing downward on a slope and take the front mats out. Any water inside the cabin except the water trapped in the carpet foam will drain to the front and you can take it out. If you park the other way around the water will pool at the convenience control module and the vacuum pump for the locks. It also seems like the front body drains clog less than the back ones (back ones were clogged for me), so the frame might have a chance to drain better too. Regardless you should get it buttoned up ASAP, you might end up with something like that if not:

My windshield was completely specked with chips much like what yours is doing, it was also likely a replacement. I wonder what kind of glass it is to chip so easily, on the other hand it seemed like it could never crack. <Hijack> Unfortunate side note: my 300 has already been destroyed on its right side by a car who took the highway in the wrong direction... Then crushed by the insurance company illegally and without notice (I never agreed to give up ownership), with a perfectly good complete turbo 603 with replacement head. And I have yet to receive a single euro from them. I might have the courage to write up the complete horror story someday, still very broken from this. </Hijack> Very happy your taxi is still there for you to enjoy

Nice work on the vacuum system, is there a place where you can fill up with R12 or will you have to go through the conversion procedure? I heard the two pressure switches near the compressor need to be changed over, not sure if that's true or not.

I'm sure, your CE is definitely a keeper, it is a nice car. I know you've said you would never sell it being this far into making it your own, but if you have found better and you don't have the space or resources to keep up 3 cars at once, I guess that's how it has to be, doesn't it? Just make sure you're selling the CE for a better car

How much do you think you could sell your C124 for? I'd be sad to see it go, I'd consider even picking it up from you even though I can't spare the cash, haha.

Just read this thread from start to finish, what a ride! Very impressive work! Still a little sad about the Taxi from the first couple of posts though. Maybe emphasized by the fact I recently purchased a 300D Turbo sedan and it has the same kind of damage under the battery (found it while chasing an interior water leak, you bet I know where that comes from now...). It does kill your mojo when you find something like this! I'll do my best to repair it though, call it a good initiation to owning an older car
