I didn’t have that much luck when my wife hit an odd bit of Curb avoiding an errant camper van. I’d been oh so cleaver with a set of cheap OZ Evo 4 wheels for the daily but no way was I going to find another one. Put them into the auction of tat at the weekender - wonder where they ended up... With you on matching good tyres- first thing to check on a s/h motor, cheap mismatched tyres is a red flag. Have a bill in the file for £300 ish for one wheel and tyre (previous owner) so relatively speaking you and the bairn got away easy. Meh life though. James

Cool, how old does Tom need to be to drive it ? Think it would be a 13 second car with the improvements in reaction time and power to weight! Hope you had a nice day despite the rain James

Platform is the same as the fiat coupe isn’t it ? So can’t be too bad. Rare old car for sure, not even that common in Italy from memory but hopefully the platform sharing will mean you can get service bits. Good luck and keep us posted. James

The other thing that is great about the modern LED stuff is how little juice they need, so extra lights don’t add up to a lot. Redid our trailer with led bulbs as the LR has a bodged trailer connector with no relays which solved the issue with indicators. Only issue they spit out is needing an electronic relay. Nice progress, the tractor needs a rewire but not high up the list, as a new battery and a trickle charger masks the Dynamo not working pretty well - the joy of old diesels that need no electricity to run. Keep the updates coming different and interesting. James

Sounds like you have earned that break. Will you get time off for good behaviour ? James (Still the younger but not feeling it !)

Hope whatever is causing the stress eases and you have more time to play and share what you are up to on some interesting cars. Life has a habit of catching up on you sometimes doesn’t it? James

Assume the thermostat is attached to the top hose ? I did something similar recently on the LR convinced something was amiss as the top of the rad was hot and the bottom cold but just turned out that the rad was simply doing its job. Taking the water pump and thermostat off to work out I'm a numpty was a little painful. If you still have the old stat I'd chuck it in a pan of water to check it opens - be surprised if it doesn't. Did the fan kick in with new stat ? If ambient temp is low might not cut in too much anyway ? Still with a new rad and thermostat and some fresh coolant you have a bit of insurance on an old car against getting hot, nice to see an old smoker getting some love, came up well and the boxy look is nicely classic now. Think you might need to save your money for tyres and petrol.... They look nice as these things go though, definitely help you get seen now as all the modern stuff has them. How’s the snoz ? Still attached? James

Like the progress and the proper engineering going into this. Going to be awesome, can't wait to see it see it low front high back to see how much rake you can get with a bed on to emphasize it. Have a sneaky feeling it would rock the gasser look too ! One question will the temp bed clear the back wheels at low ? James

Checked with sparky friend and armoured clipped to wall is fine with regs, and safe with it. James
