Just don't enjoy the drive from them any more. It's a restored car aswell so not a shed.
Combination off the b&q quick shift, vibratetechnics mounts and std 14" wheels with bike tires make for a very noisy 'interesting' driving experience.
Maybe I'm getting old :/

Ah I know what ya mean.
I had one on compression struts and gaz golds. That was pretty awsome. But the shell was so soft. Sure I could feel it flexing. Was better after the cage went in.
Geuss they were good fun cars. Don't get me wrong. Still got a fiesta turbo now. But don't use it as I feel like I'm going to die every time I drive it lol.

When I had them I 'thought ' they were good
Then I owned some proper cars. Focus Rs, scooby, track spec clio.
There wibblepoo compared.

I can appreciate a bit of stretch on a 10j wheel.
But a 165 on a 8j would look poney. ( this is all in my opinion)
I've a had a few Rs turbos running various suspension and compression strut set ups. And thu are wibblepoo lol.
That low et will make it tranline like mad.

Have you considered looking at a 328i. You could spend a bit of money getting the suspension geometry and braking right with some minor engine mods and come seriously close to M3 performance. A mate of mine has a 328 track car and can seriously worry the M3s with thw way it's set up. Just a suggestion and I'd you are dead set on an M3 probably one you will ignore but thought I would throw it out there. I'm sorry but I strongly disagree with this. A 328 will never make more than 220 bhp without a lot of money or a turbo. The only thing a 328 can match a m3 for is fuel consumption. 328 is a great car in it's own right but it will NEVER match an m3 without considerable investment.

195 45 will give a rather large stretch on a 8j 15".
165 IMO would be borderline dangerous.
But if your into that 'scene' stuff and want to ruin the drive ( if you could ever class a mk4 escort as nice lol) then crack on.
I ran 205 45 16 on escos rim and they had rather a lot of stretch ( namkang ns2 )

3.0 has the more reliable single vanos engine. It also doesn't suffer from the bottom end bearings failing like the 3.2 does. The 5 speed attached to the 3.0 is also more robust that the later 6.
However, the 3.2 Evo has better suspension, more power.
The smg is to be avoided at all cost.
An editorial blue late model manual spoiler less coupe on the sunflower wheels will be a nice investment.
Me personally. Prefere the 3.0s.

First of all id like to wish everybody a merry christmas. I think ive been sitting about too long these holidays already as my mind has wandered off onto turbo charging the engine for my escort. Its a 1700 sigma (zetec se) from a puma which comes with all steel internals as standard. What i know about turbos is very limited, i know i need to lower the compression, and route the air from the exit of the turbo to the inlet manifold via an intercooler but thats about it. *Can i use twin 40 dhla's? *Can i use a diesel turbo? (I'm not looking for massive amounts of power) *Can i use ignition only ecu? This might be a dead duck from the start as i said it was just a daydream i had today Sent from my GT-I9505 using proboards Few bits there a wrong mate. The puma bottom end is actually sintered metal. Basically a powder that's been squashed under high pressure. Great for high revs, pants for boost. The Vvt on the puma lump doesn't lend it's self either. The 1.6 version of the same engine how ever does turbo well. I built one a few years back, pistons and rods, custom exhaust manifold and a t25 turbo. Used the puma metal intake. Made around 200bhp at 10 psi.

Full length, headers back, dual system, or just dual exits? Classic/bugeye/blobeye/hatch? The Hawkeyes and Hatches have dual exits, some hatches even have twin-tip dual exit (four tips) Basically running it on a dual exhaust system so one for every cylinder block. Its just basically half a V8 thats been squished hence why it sounds good!! Its in regards to the classic 90's one like when you see one with a big-bore on the back which is alright as opposed to some curse word Corsa 12V thats sounds like gash with no racing heritage. It's got absolutely nothing to do with having a pipe per bank 'like a squished v8' It's to do with the unequal length of the manifold runners, the firing order and length of the inlet and exhaust ports Number of cylinders changes the frequency of the sound. The firing order makes a huge difference ( audi rs4 v8, Ferrari v8 are called 'cross plain cranks ' This is why they sound different to old tank v8 )

Yeah I'm really bad for it. I've only ever had 2 cars I've kept for longer than 6 months. I've had 64 cars in 7 years.
Literally 2 weeks after I've changed, fixed the issues with it and taxed it, I'm back in eBay looking for the next victim.
I've even got my mrs changing car every 4 months now.
In the last 2 years I've had ( il just record the interesting ones )
Clio 182 trophy Ibiza cupra r Fiesta st Clio 172 Audi a3 quattro turbo Fiesta st Fiesta Rs turbo ( actually still got this, had it 5 years now, don't use it much as I feel like I'll die when driving it hard ) 530d msport ( my first auto ) Focus Rs mk1 Audi Tt 225
Got a caged up Clio cup as a Dailey now. Do obv as it's cold I'm looking at 320cd bmws lol

The inner part would be cheap to have re machined.
It's the outer with the teeth that takes the time.
Lovely build.

Snog, My fully restored fiesta rs turbo. Only modernisation mods ( bigger breaks/ master cylinder/ disks on back / improved coloring ). It's only 170 bhp but looks totally original and makes an amazing noise. Turns heads every where. BUT. Death feels imminent every time I drive it. So I move on to my marry. Mk1 focus rs. 340 bhp. Used it as a Dailey. Totally reliable and loved it. Soooooo fast. 14mpg sucked dick. This trophy was pretty good too. Aboid. Rev 4 mk2 mr2. Hateful thing. Slow. curse word on fuel. Couldn't drive it ( gay wheel drive ftw) and broke down maaaaaaaany time.

I made some spherical bearing top mounts at work for my 182, they'd fit this aswell, as your shock is going to be angled over if Recomend then for this build.

Can you not fit a 172 Clio flagrant subframe etc as there already wider track ?

Seems a dear way of not going that quick
I'd buy a manual 3.0 omega ( 3.2s can be had aswell in police spec) and chuck the whole lot in.

A bit of rotation movement is not a prob. It's if you can rock the face horizontally ( like the wheel bearing test) If there's much axial movement it's goosed

I'm under the understanding that for mot emmisions purposes it would go from the year of the engine.
