FWIW I've used MX-5 Parts a few times when I had the MX-5. They are IME the exception to the rule that proves the rule. That is they sell genuine Mazda parts for a little less than Mazda themselves and also deliver them quickly, as in a couple of days tops! Maybe I was unlucky but I've never met a bunch of unhelpful, arrogant and generally customer carefree attitude towards people. Most other marques I've have tend to have the dealers getting in parts quickly and in most cases cheaper than what the specialists can unless you look at the latter's pattern/"OE" range. Ford and PSA have proven this. BMW and Porsche especially so ; it's handy Rybrook are on my doorstep. Yeah I have to say my experiences with the Mazda dealers weren't particularly amazing, just weren't very knowledgeable at all. The only other dealer I've ever been to for parts was the Jaguar dealer in Cov (can't remember the franchise) when I had the XJ40, I was expecting them to be pretty disinterested as its not one of the most desirable Jags but they were actually really helpful, knew their stuff, and the parts they could get in for me were actually priced fairly. And I'd not even told them I was a JLR employee (although I'm never sure if that would be a help or a hindrance... ) Norton Way Mazda in Letchworth are good, they still have all the paper records and have even looked up if they parts in Japan for me. They even sourced two brand new sills for me and they were fairly cheap, even the service guy was amazed considering what they charge for their current stable. Definitely worth talking to but I don't think Mazda ship between dealerships so youve got to arrange your own shipping. (If you ever did get something from them I'm more than happy to keep it as its only 30 mins from me)

On vlog 3 theres a wheel company that you said doesnt have a UK distributed, what is the company?
Otherwise I'm enjoying watching through them at the moment, a lot of coverage seems to try and get as many cars or just wide beauty shots. I like that youre getting the up close details.

Can you set them partially open? Hallo sb Yes you can set them any way that you need. Mint! Get a couple of DB meters and an Arduino and you could set that up how you want.

Haven't used one but I am very interested in getting some so will follow this.
I've seen some on eBay going for over a grand which seems obscene for what you are actually getting.

Depends on the car but mine lets you choose if you want 1 flash or 3. So if it has a fancy dandy computer control you can probably change that. I must say though I quite like the 3 flash now Ive lived with it for a couple years.

Today I found a car I've been looking for for ages (actually literally your fault for posting pictures of one) Glad to be of service, and now I'm trying to remember what I posted It was this: www.tradecarview.com/used_car/nissan/gloria+hardtop/21648662/It looks gorgeous and great condition but after two messages I get a response saying... "Sorry this car is in bad condition I cannot sell it to you". Seems more like he either doesnt want to sell or export which is a shame but thats gone now.

sb ... What you rolling... A VW of some kind? Basically, an Ibiza. My only negative is it would be infinitely better as a 1.6 with a 6 speed. Anyway thats modern and boring, enjoy this compound boosted 1200hp 2000ft lbs cummins:

Personally I think Tesla should be selling bare chassis. Either in a ladder or a subframe type deal with everything required to have a running driving car.
Bolt it all in, find somewhere for the batteries and go. Because the Tesla for all it's incredible features and performance is hideous, it looks like a melted Mondeo. So the option to put all that in your classic relatively simply, I think, would be a great idea.

My modern 1.4 does 70mpg or can keep up with the best of them in the twisties and still give me 45mpg.
Find me a 1.4 petrol that can do that. Honestly after having a diesel for a couple years now I'm fully converted.

I can't wait, if a Tesla was offered on my company car scheme I would take it in a heartbeat. Honestly I want an electric daily. If in a few years if I can have one that doesn't look like an amorphous blob then all the better!

Looking to buy a snap off boss for the rex and was wondering if anyone could recommend any decent brand or supplier for them?
I'm very aware that the steering wheel is a rather integral part of the car and Ill spend the money to ensure its always attached when I need it.

I can never work out if Trade Car View is crazy expensive or if I have unrealistic expectations! Today I found a car I've been looking for for ages (actually literally your fault for posting pictures of one) in the best condition yet and for half the usual price. Shame is I don't actually have the money right now... So naturally I've messaged the seller for more details and I'm already thinking where to store it.

Was speaking to Goodwood today. We're on, contracts, deposit and all that good stuff in the works. Now to make a show unlike any other on the calendar I missed this confirmation, the rex has a deposit down now for a turbo so I may have missed rrg but got a new goal!

But if you have an mot will you be pushed to a q even if it's your choice to mot? Also I assume you opt into this by having your car registered as historic? My car is already registered as historic so am I opted in for mot exempt already and does that mean I can't modify? If you're outside the 8-points then you have to have an IVA regardless. Every person modifying their car should already be assessing it against the Radically Altered Vehicle rules at that time anyway, and submitting the car for an IVA when it no longer complies, however many folks choose not to do this. The new Legislation is simply tightening up on this by including it in the MOT-exemption Regs. But the question is are there two states or three? VHI MOT exempt standard cars IVA Q plates Or can you still carry on now by doing the mot and having a lightly modified car with no IVA? Because this reads to me like it's either standard or q plate and that is honestly an awful decision.

So my truck just became mot exempt but I now can't make any of the mods I was planning? Seems like a terrible deal.
What are the options going forward, just stay quiet and roll up to the mot centre?
