The fun begins. First of all there was my summer christmas when santa delivered the greatest gift of all, BC Racing coilovers! Don't know if Ill throw them on immediately or wait to get all the other parts powder coated so I can do it all at once. The other job was replacing the headlights as my low beam wasnt working. To do this you need to lift off the headlight covers for access, these are held in with 4 screws each. Now because life isnt easy every single one was corroded and tried to round off as soon as you got near it, but I got there in the end. By using plenty of violence. Had to grind off all the heads then drill out the studs, went a lot easier than stud removal usually does but unfortunately I lost a lot of thread on one. I replaced all the screws for bolts anyway so Ive just put a nut on the back of the bad one and presto first job ticked off!

Long time no speak. Well after 3 and a half years, a lot of money and a hemorrhoid inducing motorcycle ride later my RX7 has finally returned: This time its not about to disappear again either! Nor is it going to be left to rot away. No this ladies and gentlemen is a fully road legal vehicle. Its got the tax, its got the test and its got the insurance. Ive even got 150 miles on it already. The first drive was uneventful, which is good in my book for a car that has not been driven in 7 years. It blew a PS steering line but not the end of the world and we got it patched up with air line to get home. Honestly after so long it has been amazing to actually drive it. However its not quite all finished yet, its still on break in so needs to return for mapping. Currently its limited to 4k and it really cannot stretch its legs. Theres also a lot of things to do, so long in fact I decided to make a list and thats all I could think of on the top of my head. So although its finally home, the fin really has just begun! Remove/relocate front plate Finish plate holder Fit 1 line plate Fit red bulb in reverse section Connect red bulb Remove headlight cover Check issue with OSF dip beam Repair crack on screw mounting hole Repair chip Remove broken studs Secure both wings Finish fibreglassing splitter Fit splitter Move intercooler back Cut and fit spare bumper Find and fit piece over gear stick Check and remove wiring Repair cabling Make mount for double DIN Fit interior vents Repair rust Repair rust hole in spare wheel well Fit new battery tray Remove old 'tray' Fit roof spoiler Fit coilovers Fit new wheel boss Fit removable hub Fit new steering wheel Fit new alloys Powder coat suspension Fit new bushings Fit rear strut brace Fit chassis strut (wing) Fit chassis strut (front subframe) Rebuild calipers Replace brake lines Replace fuel lines Replace wing indicators Replace boot struts Remove rear wiper and blank Remove rear washer and blank Check intermittent washer jets Connect headlight washers Clean radiator Clean intercooler Clean oil cooler Clean PS cooler Fit hard IC piping Colour code piping Fit side skirts Replace exhaust Remove aerial Fit speakers Fit blank in spoiler Repair power steering pipe

If you like it I would recommend looking through his other videos that try different fuels and trying to blow it up on nitro

Personally find this really interesting to watch, he also has other videos of a regular piston engine with an acryllic "head" to see the combustion:

For me email is easiest because I actually check that address! I get all your thread updates and event stuff which is great. Forum can be hit and miss depending what section its in.
FB just seems like a joke, as you said who knows what you're gonna get.

I'm confused, they say its still free but you cant get on the site because its pay walled?
I wonder how much a view is worth on Youtube, be interesting to know how many they are happy to lose if they still make money.

I got the 4 for £50 lot you see on ebay everywhere, mirror coating is good but not sure on beam pattern as they havent been fitted yet. Swapped the bulbs for Osram H4 and LED H1. The LEDs absolutely swamp the H4 high beam, definitely worth upgrading too. I've looked at LED bulbs. Two things that put me off are: 1) Heat production: they heat up alot, and have melted some OE applications in some instances! 2) Beam pattern: Are you OK to take a shot of that? It is interesting to see LED alternatives outside of the tailor-made headlamps available. There is another way to improve 5.75" lights. BMW E30 lights. They will however look a little different and will require more modifying than any of the suggested solutions to fit. The heat produced I would honestly say is on par with a regular bulb but its produced by the driver outside of the headlight rather than in it. For me that doesnt matter too much, they have 3 large braided fins that sit in an all metal enclosure so nothing to melt. Beam pattern is uncontrolled as mine are high beam only.

I've never been asked for anything other than a name on just giving and PayPal goes through every time. No signing up and no spam. I've chipped in, never met you or spoken to you Dez but from a fellow car friend this seems like an awful situation!

I've never understood wheeler dealers. The buying part is already done, they know the price so why the soap opera pretending.
Mike is unwatchable, the number of times he wiped his rings over fresh paint alone is annoying but all the shouting and muppetry ruins it. Considering all the mouthing off he did when Ed left it sounds like he has a fair bit of say on the production.
The work they undertake is generally boring or pointless or both, with no real information imparted. I did like for the love of cars though so maybe Ant has changed that.
Then the 'buying', where the show runner pretends to be excited and 'buy' a car that they probably won't ever sell and the price they want and they lose out on later.
Don't get why a show who's schtick is that they buy and sell cars fake the two things meant to make them different, and they're not even good at trying to hide that. I'd rather watch the openly scripted American car shows honestly.
On a happier note I hope those who enjoy the show continue to enjoy it! Everyone is open to like what they want.

I have belt tensioners and they're all tight, I did have an issue with the grubs so theyve all been triple checked now and last I checked all the steppers lock solid.
Its just weird that is still draws the exact pattern but offset, but it manages to recover again. I would expect any slippage to make it slowly get worse.

Cura and only tried PLA so far but got some ABS now to try. Here are some pics to try and show it, theres just a slight deflection generally only in one axis. Never worse than about 1mm, and its random what levels it occurs at. Theres no obvious backlash so my only though is the overall stability and whether the bridge is swaying during printing? But its random when it occurs and I would expect that to get worse at it rises.

I have an Anet A8 and your print accuracy looks so much better than mine. Although the actual print is accurate it cannot line each layer up accurately so it always ends up lumpy. Do you have any advice on what to look at to improve it?
