I love how my saph looks with its standard wheels I tried a set of Oz superleggera on that I have just to see what it looked like Nice to see it's still in good hands Yes mate its still living the life of luxury in my care getting all the genuine parts it could ever want, you can reassure your grandad it's still being cherished, did you ever find me some pictures of it from back in its early days to scan and email across? Heres a nicer picture of it

6k after rebuilding the top end on my saph it got an annoying loud tick that I first thought was either one of the new lifters had gone or it was injector, i decided to try the easier option first, i changed the injectors and fuel pressure reg, no difference so I prepared myself with the thought I was going to have to remove the timing chain and cams in the near future, in between having chance of checking the condition of the lifters my petrol tank developed a weep, so I got a new one, drained the fuel by fitting a pipe from the return to a jerry can the noise was still there, I changed the tank etc, put some fuel in and the annoying loud tick had gone, i couldn't believe my ears

I have always smeared inlet manifold gaskets with regular grease, it was a tip i learned from my dad when I was a little lad, you don't need too much on there, just a light smear on both sides does the job, it seals better than horrible gasket sealer

Series x stuff is quite rare these days, as you probably know series x parts were dealer fit and available through ford rs dealerships, last set of carbs and manifold i saw went for just over £500 without postage, if your serious about getting the parts I'd be putting wanted ads on turbosport, passion ford, maybe even the rs owners club

does anyone else have the "knock it down a cog a floor it spot" outside their house ? example, you are outside working on your pride and joy, a local yoooff comes round the corner in their fiesta st, feels threatened/competitive at the sight of another man who is into cars, gets overwhelmed by primeval machismo and "knocks it down a cog and floors it" past your place ?? Yes constantly, the yoof see the old ford's at mine and think they have to prove something

Dangerous driving ffs where do they get off, he should have had points for the tyres and a defect notice on the rest of the stuff, oh my how the daily mail have inflated the story they may as well of made the headline "young dangerous driver eats babies and bought ebola to Wales killing nuns and kittens" to give the story a bigger impact.

When I was 18 i was driving a modified sierra with a few mates in and I was sat at some traffic lights with an arrogant gent at the side in his bmw e36 coupe revving, i revved back then i noticed a cop car at the junction a short way away whose attention had been drawn by the sound of revving, the lights turned green i pulled off slowly and the gent left the lights in a big hurry wheels spinning and his car fired up the road, the cop car whipped out of the junction and pulled him, we drove back around and went past laughing.

The funniest was When I was in mrs high engine spec escort rs turbo which has a mongoose stainless system with a 4 inch outward tailpipe, I had a lad in one of those shake your ass megane turbos revving up next to me at a roundabout trying to get me to race with all his mates in, i looked across smiled revved and dumped whilst whilst making a small gesture with my thumb and index finger, he pulled off slowly not making eye contact his mates were laughing at him
