These old barges are A1 - most awesome car for the money that you can buy! We did a charity rally in one last year. Cut the exhaust half way down and it sounded like a NASCAR!
If it hasn't had it done already, you can modify the airbox to give it a mega intake noise! Look it up:

Big update - a good few month's worth. So first of all, the pink Accord is now a bit more red! I'd also been preparing the car for a big bucket list achievement - My first ever Nurburgring trip! (and not my last!) I did 2 laps out there with my (incredibly brave) Dad as a passenger. Laps were reserved, but I managed my sub 10 BTG target! I'll be aiming for 9m next time, the car is easily capable. The car, as she stands now: - All new belts and tensioners - New OEM clutch - Aftermarket power steering cooler - Long arm induction kit and K&N cone - solid fabs decat and down pipe - XYZ coil overs - Special cheapy TE37 style rims... - Federal RSR tyres - Interior has been stripped - Cobra suzuka seat and harness - OMP dished rim wheel - Yellowstuff pads all around - new discs, decent race quality fluid - Refreshed calipers It was an amazing car to take to the ring. Easy to drive fast, yet always felt safe. I was really proud of how dialled i got the coil overs, and the tyres were awesome too. Video evidence! (Not great quality!)

Please, someone take this away from me. I don't want to skip it! I'm not asking for any money for it!

I've got a big pile of BMW comfort interior i pulled out of my E34 5 Series before scrapping it. I don't want any money for it, but i'm a supporter of two charities in particular, so a donation would be great. Front and rear seats, boot carpet, all headrests, a few other bits and bobs. All in decent condition, some wear to drivers seat base. All need a clean. Located in Leamington Spa, West Mids.

Get that Compact slammed and fitted with an LSD! Give it as much intake noise as possible and it's basically a BMW AE86 in spirit! Much love for the Compact

The front calipers i'd recommend removing from the car and just sending to a brake specialist to get rebuilt. I'm afraid there's not really any way without having to bleed the system. Pushing the pistons back into the caliper is only going to be forcing rust and curse word back into them, and unless you value your time at £0 it's really not that bad to get them done properly. Safety first and all that!

Hey RetroRides! I thought you guys might all be interested in an event I have gotten involved in - it's called the Twin Town Challenge!3 of my colleagues and I are taking part, supporting SpecialEffect by driving from Witney to its twin town of le Touquet in a £500 car. Being petrolheads, we had to have a V8! Our Lexus LS400 will be one of the one-hundred cars that will leave Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire for Le Touquet in May! Here's a picture of The Beast! In the next few weeks we're going to livery it up and make it noisy enough to be truly RR worthy! I promise plenty of pictures, videos and action as it all unfolds. Until the next update though, a small read about why we are taking part, who SpecialEffect are and a small beg about donations: SpecialEffect are a charity dedicated to putting fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games. The charity holds a special significance to our team, as we all dedicate our lives to creating video games. The Twin Town Challenge 2016 is aiming to raise £250,000 for SpecialEffect this year, and we'd be really grateful if you could spare any size donation to help towards this target. Video games are an incredible tool for social interaction, mental stimulation and of course enjoyment. But not only this - Video games can expose young people to cars, and turning gamers into car lovers can only mean one thing - a safe future for Retro cars!! We have a BT donate page set up for the event here!It can also be reached via our team page here!
Cheers!

The car was a 93 525i with a comfort interior, 15" BBS, no SE Skirts and terrible bodywork. Basically everything except for the engine, door side mouldings and a few clips and trims are still available.

Love this! I don't think i would have ever washed it, for effect! I remember this burgundy one from years ago - the guy has had some nice cars and they always look immaculate: racer86.com/category/project-mk1-cavalier/Yep.

Well done getting that splutter out of it! The fuel tank will have a couple of lines coming off it - the main one that you fill the car up with, but it also will probably have a breather line somewhere, that deals with the expansion of the liquid and also where the air comes out when you fill the tank with fuel instead! It'll also have a level sensor too that is plugged in somewhere, plus the fuel lines to the front of the car. Otherwise it'll just be brackets.
As has been mentioned, any fuel or vacuum pipes are worth replacing. If you can borrow one off a mate, i'd recommend getting hold of an air compressor too - allowing you to blast air through pipes to de-curse word them is quite useful.
It might just be worth getting a new Weber carb over coaxing the old one into life. It won't be too expensive, and it'll be more reliable and easier to maintain once it's up and running again.
Keep going mate!

My 83 breadvan had the sticker in the boot too. Mine was "LA3B" for reference, which turned out to be "Gambia Red".

The passenger side inside the engine bay looks OK at a first glance - i need to get the arch liners off ASAP and inspect. Hopefully a good bodyshop will be able to repair most of it without completely having to strip it all down and rip the dash out.
