Find the colour code off the VIN or information plate.
Google it.
Revel in your new found knowledge.

Brombeer could be German for Black Berry so I presume its a Dark blue or purple??? Phone your dealer give them you chassis number and they will tell you everything you need to know..... If you simply want to chat about your fresh car get some photos up and create a thread. ?

Whilst it's lovely you take such an interest in what I post, there's no arrogance intended in my reply.
There is no greater lesson than helping someone help themselves.
Maybe the OP didn't even know there was such a thing as a paint code on his car, it being his first ever one.

In the boot on right hand side is a sticker that is upside down with all the information you need paint code etc. I have had two mk2 -f polo's with this sticker in the boot ..

My 83 breadvan had the sticker in the boot too. Mine was "LA3B" for reference, which turned out to be "Gambia Red".

Brombeere translates as Blackberry so that would make sense looking at that colour.
I can't say I've ever seen it before, but it looks great.
As others have said, VW's have all the detail on a sticker under the boot carpet. I remember looking out for the sticker was one of the key points when buying as no sticker was a sign the car had been hit up the rear.
In a modern twist, I had a nostalgic moment when I had to lift the boot floor on our 2015 Tiguan to fill it with Adblue. Lo and behold, there was the sticker, just as on my previous Mk2 and 3 Golfs!

It is indeed Blackberry. I used to sell Vw's in the early 80's and this was not a common colour!

Be aware that the paint has faded over the years, so that paint code will be darker.

Not updated thread in over a year, basically, i've still got me ol' gal, she's having an engine swap, a formel E lump from an '82 which after i've took parts for i may sell... i've genrally spent my time cleaning it up etc, i've replaced all i could pick failt with, added my own touch to it in ways & found some alloys i'm going to buy when i have some money saved ( buying brand new ), i then plan on changing the Solex/Peirburg 31 pict 7 for a Weber 32 TLA, just fixing her up as there isn't much to do, just a lack of funds if anything
