I'm currently on holiday in Crete and have just got back from driving a brand new VW Beetle Dune cabriolet. It was pretty good fun,and now the wife thinks we should get one. Yeh the wife would, but you are gonna look like a proper ‘hairdresser’ when you drive it. Also remember Crete + sun + cabriolet 👍 UK + 🥶🌧☔️+ cabriolet 😩 Except I won't be the one driving it,she will. I will be trundling around in an old land rover.Admittedly back home it would seem a bit limp wristed but I've never been one to give two curse word as to what people think of what I drive. Either from a practical or style point of view.

I'm looking for a Defender 110 Station wagon as my next car. Ideally a 200/300 TDi I know they won't be perfect but I'm looking for a solid car,no wrecks or projects please. Message me with what you have or know about. Thanks.

HA! I've just looked on car and classic, and that minis still for sale 2 years later. It would seem he's dropped the price though.

Anyone sold through CarandClassic or classiccarsforsale? What was your experience? I always thought it would be a slower sale but to an enthusiast but haven't tried. I tried buying through that site. Rang up for a mini automatic. Oldish chap answers the phone,I'm asking questions and I get one word and abrupt answers. Trying to get to view was impossible. Said he would call me back. Never did. It gets listed regularly for up to a year after with price rising by £100 everytime.

Rude, stupid and cheeky is what I've found recently. I'm selling some chest of draws on eBay, I had one person who was very interested at my asking price of £75. Even got a collection day and time sorted, only for her on the day of collection claim that it won't fit in her car after she measured up. I said that if she was local I could put them in the back of my 4x4. Comes back to me with a £50 offer and she's an hour away. Or idiots that ask questions when the details are already in the advert. On the other hand I've seen cars advertised on eBay with ridiculous prices for absolute wrecks, and they relist at the same price. I'm looking to buy a Defender once the sale of my house is completed and have been watching the same cars get listed week in week out with crazy prices. I've seen some nice cars reasonably priced sell very quick as you would expect. I doesn't take a genius to work out why.

Should I start buying shares in Haynes publishing? It's too late, the buying public are are condition in to buying new everytime. There was a bloke in my street who replaced his car every six months when the new plates came out, because he was worried his car would breakdown. He looked at my 18 year old Frontera like it was a dinosaur and could not get his head round the fact that I drove it.....everyday.
I welcome this movement with open arms,it fits my lifestyle and mentality to a tee.

I bought a Citroen Berlingo roof rack from a scrapyard that was a perfect fit for my Frontera. I had no rope or straps to tie it on with till I got home. I removed my socks and used those to tie it on. It was an unpleasant drive home just wearing shoes.

check the deeds, but if you want lighting i presume you'll want to work in there, which in many cases these days is not allowed It will be more workbench stuff with the door shut. If I need to do major jobs I can do that at my Dad's. I like to tinker with smaller bits like carbs, distributors and diesel injection pumps etc.

What do you mean by 'away from the house', metres or miles? In other words, if it's on your own land can't you just dig a trench? It's a block of 3 garages to the rear. Mines in the middle it's metres away but there's a neighbor's garden and a tarmac area. So no trench I'm afraid.

I'm soon going to move to a new build house. But my problem is that my garage is away from the house so no way to get power to it. Does anyone know of any ideas for lighting.

Yeah, looking at the black and white pics that building is long gone now. The pics of them driving along the dual carriageway is the main road not far from the factory. Layouts a little different now though. Nice pics. I see some Mini Marco in those pics too. I used to have chassis number 6143.

These were made for a while in Corby where i'm living at the moment,i've got a rough idea were the factory was but i'm not sure of the exact building.Great little cars, there was one for sale a little while back local to me but as i had just got my Land rover i had no money Here I think linkThat's the road, but I'm not sure where. Lots of units down there and it was developed a bit when the new Tesco's store opened up. Just noticed how long ago I posted that.

Have you sorted getting a injector? I’m moving my car with the 2.5td vm engine in it No,I've took it off the road as the MOT has expired but would like to use it again. My Dad's 1.8 Freelander is proving thirsty to use everyday. What car is your engine in?

Are you sure its the injector , same result with dodgy maf , you can reset ecu with battery lead off and headlight switch sequence . bit of a faff but worked on mine when maff went and needed ecu clearing . my scanner wouldn't clear it . Yeah I measured the resistance and it's open circuit. I unplugged the sensor and have the same result. I'm intrigued by this reset sequence as my code reader won't talk to the car.

I need the pilot injector with a working sensor for cylinder 1. Mines failed so I have the dreaded 2000rpm limit that these engines can suffer with. Anyone got one? Or spotted a car with this engine in the scrap yards? What car is the engine in? Also, I don't think a Frontera ever had the VM fitted. Isuzu and GM had their own diesel engine range. Is it the 2.5 td vm engine with a single cylinder head for per cylinder? Yes Yep,it's in a Frontera. They did them in the Frontera for a short time as a replacement for the Isuzu 2.8.
