That IS shiny! I've had two of these at the same time (both the same colour as in the OP), a Rallye and a Cabrio', with the intention of combining into one vehicle. Sadly time and money meant they both had to be sold before I could do anything meaningful with them.

I absolutely love this! Did you ever consider putting some bomber style seats in it?

Great to see another SD1 being saved. I have the '85 Vitesse in Silver Leaf (the car I was taught to drive in...) that MonzaPhil's old GSE is seen hiding behind. The broomhandle holding the bonnet up is a genuine period BL option.

...Looking into it further, the photographer is a bit handy with photoshop. Added to the fact that not only is the car lower, it has also gained larger diameter versions of the same rims and lower profile tyres.... Shame he forgot to 'shop the rims on t'other side of the car, too

The only problem I foresee is that it all goes smoothly.... Phil, really, with your history, what are the chances it all goes smoothly? Let's just consider: Landrover tow-car - check Borrowed trailer - check You - check As if it needs reinforcing that you are a danger to yourself and others, the last time you went anywhere with a trailer, you came back with a free horse. You are not normal. By the way, you should definitely buy it.

Right, firstly I need to state I have signed up just to read this thread. In the interests of full disclosure, I am MonzaPhil's older, and much more sensible brother.
A couple of comments:
My Saab is not brown. And it's STILL for sale because MonzaPhil is clearly not pulling his weight...
ANYTHING that invloves MonzaPhil and a green oval is likely to go "pffft" at the least opportune moment
CLEARLY an 80's V8 Rover would be an eminently more sensible mode of transport...
If you think this ERT is an isolated event, ask him about the time he DID do the sensible thing and use the recovery truck and a twin axle trailer to collect my dead RR Classic. A Clue: "Hello MonzaPhil, hope the trip to the big smoke was okay, how many wheels were on the trailer when you left the New Forest, by the way..?"
Oh, guess who has bought the black commercial running a set of chunky mud a snow tyres...
