Does anyone know anything about the GM Hydroboost where the pressure from the PAS pump is used to assist the brake pressure rather than vacuum or air? As I have a redundant PAS pump it would make some sense. I helped my cousin fit one of these kits to his 68 charger a while back. It just bolted in where the servo would usually go and plumbed in in series with the power rack. I think they source the actual units from OEM applications (probably Ram 2500/3500 cummins diesels), and you pay for the little billet adapter and linkages of the correct size. I'm sure a man of your talents can replicate these cheaper. Not knowing anything about commercial systems and even less about goddess brakes I have no idea if they would be adaptable to fit or man enough to cope. Quick google search returned this, a re-manufactured unit from a 2001 ram 3500 is $210 + $50 if you don't have an exchange.

Nope, we are both wrong, it's a Leopard Mirach produced between 1988 - 92 and designed by Chris Field running a 4-ltr Rover V8 and apparently capable of 150+mph. Not too shabby in either looks or performance and pretty damn rare. Excellent thanks.

There were a few retros parked up outside around the show fields as well. Mirage. Well, that's about it until next year then. This is surprisingly awesome! If 1980's Lagonda made a sports car. My googleing says it might be a CC Cyclone though?

I just bought some 106 xs(i?) alloys for my 205 and they say "Made in West Germany" on them. I would say that is pretty retro! I wouldn't be surprised if in 5 years we are all lamenting the fact we didn't buy 10 saxo VTSs/106 GTis and stick them in a barn somewhere. I'll have a black Ph1 rallye please.

I built the same one a few years ago, loads of fun to make. I'm going to get the wood to build something a bit bigger for this summer, probably a Selway Fisher prospector Link to site. Also a good site if you are into this sort of thing. Song of the paddle the self build section is quite entertaining. I will try to dig out some pictures of the one I built.

Like It! I've got a Maxi s and a Maxi n tucked away in the garage. It's a coincidence that you have used a Redline stem on your S, as mine has Redline cruiser bars on it. It is also modified (unfinished) but with more of a super moto theme. I will dig it out and take some pics if you like.

I think the front wings on an escort are at least partly structural, if fitting composite I think additional strengthening would be needed.

However, to answer your question I do not think it is too tricky to do if you have two cars side by side. Welshpug is the man to ask . Starting off with an XU engined car may make life easier however. The rear suspension is dead simple to swap accross ; the front subframe (which is quite different on the GTi/non GTi cars) would be my area of concern. The front subframe does fit but apparently you need spacers between the subframe and body. Also the gear linkage pivot would be in the wrong place (depending on box used). I have the bits to do the swap on mine but not the inclination at the moment. As for the rear I just bought a knackered rear GTi beam for pennies and swapped the torsion bars and ARB onto my good base spec beam. I have heard that the GTi rear beam has a thicker/stronger tube but I cant see it making much difference TBH. A 16v TU out of a saxo vts /106 GTi would be an easy swap.

Awesome. Can't believe people are hating, surely this is RR fodder I kept thinking broadspeed jag during the front-on shots. Just me?

theres a company called tribute automotive who makes rebody kits for mx5's and bmw z3's as well as a couple of triumph kits. I agree they are a bit pricey but this looks fairly awesome its call an A352, spitfire based.

saw one of these on a 64 plate yesterday, colour looked great IRL. A quick check of the website says it is called smooth mint. As I walked past I imagined it on my latest fantasy build of a slammed and arched mk5 transit.

They're not 18's and they're the wrong PCD but the Volvo Drive e (?) wheels are kinda funky I like those as well. Also like these kia ones I think there is a 16 and an 18 inch version and they are 5x114.3, Is the golf 5x112?

I've been contemplating something like this
anyone had any experience? Seems to alleviate a lot of the issues with air blasting i.e. dust and needing a massive compressor

A B axle will fit but they are wider so you are limited with wheel choice. I have seen one that ran a B axle with VW golf steels on the rear and standard arches. A piazza one would be better though (if you can find one).
