Can't quite read it but it ain't no Porsche It's a "911 Retro Works STR", which aparently is a 964 modified to look (a bit) like a classic 911. More info and photos here: www.911-retro-works.co.uk/911_retro_str.htmlSo it is a Porsche, but not the one it's pretending to be.

Might be miles away from the type of car you're looking for, but how about a Saab Sonnett III: I admit, the engine wouldn't be right, but there are some similar styling cues (I think).

We went to Capesthorne Hall on Sunday for the first day of the 45th Cheshire Classic Car and Motorcycle Show. Lots of nice, well-restored classics, with only a small number of modified cars. A good range of eras though, from the 20s right up to the 80s and 90s. My wife took some photos, so I thought I'd post them here. Some of the cars were parked very close together, and many of the owners had filled the windows with posters and signs (or set up camp directly in from of the their cars) making it difficult to get full shots, but here's a selection: This Clubman was really nice, and a fantastic retro colour too: Don't often get to see a Gilbern: This was one of the few modified cars there, and my car of the show. Really clean, well executed build: Sparkly paint on this Escort from the XR owners club: Nice flame paintjob on this yank: Hotrod on a Q plate: Beautiful Nash pikcup, with Drive-in food:

The exclamation mark "!" on the end hasn't been included in the link. Just add it to the end of the address and it loads the article.

If you're going electric (Judas! etc) that means you can block of the radiator grille which I imagine is a hindrance to airflow in a conventional engined car. There's some good information on things like grille blocks and air dams for aero on the EcoModder site: ecomodder.com/. Might be worth having a look there. They spend a lot of time looking at reducing aero drag. It's mostly more modern cars but there are some 90s ones on there, primarily Honda Civics and Suzuki Swifts.

In what language does berhen mean stop? A quick google suggests that the word is "berhenti" and is Indonesian.

Yup - I wanted to add my own take on what makes it. Yes - mud is added along with decals, tyre logos, 2" bigger rims, flaps, 2" Sprint-style roof-chop and a bit of tidying around the door to match the rear window. Did you notice the suicide doors? The doors are excellent. They're the first thing that made me think it might be a 'shop.

This is a great thread - something very solid and chunky about a UK café racer style. unfussy, engineering and common sense, not gimmicks or fragility. This mini sort of sums it up for me: (Though it'd be better with the functional pressed-steel 'van' grille...) Is the mud painted on? Agree about the van grille would finish it off. It's a Photoshop. Here's the original, from this post:

We've been preferring the idea of a swap, but we are open to selling it outright if we got a good offer. Feel free to PM me if you're interested.

A longshot perhaps but figured I'd give it a try anyway. We are looking to swap our automatic classic Mini for something a bit more modern and automatic. The cars had a lot of work in the last 5 or so years including: * Auto gearbox rebuilt in 2011 * New genuine rear subframe * Hi-Los all round * Minispares 7.5 disc conversion with servo * Mini Piccadilly seats and custom door cards * Minispares stage 1 kit * Lots of new panels fitted about 18 months ago including: inner and outer sills, A panels, door hinge panels, door skins, boot floor, rear valence, door steps (and probably more) It comes with 2 sets of wheels and tyres. The wheels in the photo are it's winter wheels, a set of rough looking Minilites wearing winter tyres. The other wheels are a set of Rover Seven pepperpot alloys, in very good condition, with regular tyres. There are a couple of bad bits: * No front bumper, black rear bumper * Needs a new grille * The paint is not fantastic, microblisters on the roof and a couple of scratches elsewhere * Some rust coming through on the wing seams and the lip of one of the side windows It's an extremely solid car that could do with some cosmetic work. We've run it as a daily for ages and it does the job very well. Looking for a smallish modern auto as a swap (or part exchange either way). Would be particularly interested in a Suzuki Jimny or Ignis, or a Fiat Panda, but open to other suggestions. We are based in Sheffield. A couple of photos:

I"m interested in this. DVLA says MOT expired in September. What does it need doing for the MOT? Any chance of interior and engine bay photos?
