I had a 71 mk1, same colour as my dad had one but sold it to fund Xmas a few years back. That's exactly how I'd have my living room but I have an anti retro Mrs, Commando is back in the garage now I'd happily have another, I'm 28 now but made my pocket money when I was 12 onwards buying mk2s, doing them up and selling them, so my childhood was all about them. Mad how the prices have gone now, can't justify having a 600 bike that's a bit hard to ride where as I could have car funds etc. Also I'd have to keep it in the house, which isn't allowed any more

Yeah in fairness it has, I'll be having a cull in the summer as I want the Astra back in the garage at the end of the year, and it's full of about 20 bikes atm, plus all the kids scooters, go karts and camping gear. I need a shed

Our work (Yodel) used to use them in the Home Delivery Network days, a lot of the more experienced drivers prefer them to the Sprinters, more traction apparently, less breakdowns, and just a general easier to use van. My Mrs grandad had a Sherpa for donkeys years, he was engineer on farms and HGVs, used it for everything, must have had the thing 20 years plus. Only went after he departed, as far as I know it's still going.

Just done a quick one on a Commando I picked up cheap, 6 year old wanted a retro old bike as her stepsister has sacked her mountain bike off for the blue mk3 Chopper now. She wanted it pink but with limited choice in Halfords it's ended up that purple colour most mk6 Fiestas seem to be. Good polish on the chrome, new cables and bearings, just waiting on a chain and trying to find a sturmey twist shift that isn't white. Seat looks like its been chewed by something but seem to be a rare part so will have to do, it fulfils the old cool criteria I was presented with, I'd ride it (tried, I'm 6'4, failed). Only one eBay pic of the before And a couple tonight in the utility where reassembly took place whilst the Mrs was in work

What are the chances... was it found abandoned or can somebody be held accountable?

Not worried either way about T4/5's but this on the other hand has much want... When did you last see one of these ? Nice to see one of your old cars out and about - had a lot of love for our old honda stream - sold it 4 years ago James Love a Tipo, made a brilliant first car 10 years ago

This was mine, nicknamed Dave as he was the same colour as David Dickinson. Basic motoring, but a lot of fun for a 50bhp car. Killed by someone's shoddy dash rewire.

Is the Collison avoidance anything like the incredibly nervous active braking fitted to new sprinters? A car matching my speed pulled into the fast lane 300 yards ahead the other day and the van dam near threw me through the windscreen pulling off it's own emergency stop, bloody terrifying

My dad had his up on stands, wheels off and underneath, windows open an inch and covered in bed sheets, kept the dust off but still allowed air through, was like that for 3 years. Run up to temp once a week. Was a dry and well ventilated garage, I'd skip the sheets if you get any condensation build up in there otherwise the covers will hold the moisture

I really really want a Guilia Quadrofoglio, I have no chance of affording it but downloaded the brochure, base price of £63.5k and by the time I'd mentally specced it up it was 72, look on eBay and a 2 year old one can be had for 46, that's ridiculous depreciation That Merc is beautiful in fairness Geordie, not a fan of the loon as I think the back looks a bit rushed but as a wagon it's spot on, enjoy it
