Just had to help an elderly neighbor get his colt back to his garage due to some scummers trying to steal it. They failed but have snapped the steering column where the steering wheel splines are, damaged the steering lock and taken the steering wheel with them. They made it a whole 20ft Does anyone have any of those parts laying about or know someone that does. Going to have a walk in the morning to see if I can find the wheel at least Picture of identical car, because all threads need pictures. As a side note, every muscle in my body now hurts lol Sorry if this is in wrong section (guessing it should probably be in wanted, but I reckon it could be a mission to track down part's for this)

Message MercDan.....
I know he has a friend who built a different one, but could be a source of spares.
In case he does not see this thread.

Thanks Dan
I know you know a lot of guys and the Starlet despite being different, could have brought a lead to light.
Joe, i hope you do manage to find a source for parts.
May end up being Thailand, Philipines or such that offers up a rescue.

They have managed to get the damaged steering lock off which has freed steering up (was jamming) currently trying to weld a Citroen steering wheel on to make it easier to manoeuvre back into garage.

If things get too bad I can have a look over here in NZ, there's a fair few old colts etc about as 1) everyone's a jdm foamer, and 2) no salt means less rust!

Thanks to the power of Facebook, my wife's managed to track the missing steering wheel down (the actual stolen one!) Hopefully it's still there when she gets there.

What are the chances... was it found abandoned or can somebody be held accountable?

Returned to the rightful owner, think it's made his wife and his year. He wasn't bothered about the damage, but he says them taking the wheel was like them twisting the knife. What are the chances... was it found abandoned or can somebody be held accountable? It was just randomly found by someone in the area that had seen the Facebook post!

Older Hyundai’s and Protons used early Mitsubishi parts Hopefully he can match the column to something else. He has mentioned getting one made as he just wants it working again. Had it since 1988! Looked after it from new as previous owner was one of his customers.

Did he manage to fix this, if not I have the part numbers if that's any help for searching. The steering column is MB076486, the steering column shaft with the splines is MB076481. I have the old parts catalog with all the part numbers so if he needs any others just message me and I'll have a look.

Haven't had chance for a chat. Will find out which parts he needs and get back to you.
