My policy of selling cars almost as soon as I finish them is probably not for the best. I remember watching the build up of your small block chevy powered white Victor on the web and thought that car was stunning. I was suprised when it appeared for sale. I'm sure you must really miss that car. The only thing I would say is be careful not to make the same mistake again. I have been watching the effort you have been putting into your Ventora on here. I think you should keep hold of that at all costs, it owes you too much in time and money. Feel a bit cheeky giving you this advise being a newbie, and also having the habit of changing cars every five minutes myself, so hardly being one to preach, buts thats my thoughts. Sean

The Challenger does it for me, followed by the Rover. Is it me, or is the back bumper badly fitted on the Rover, its an Austin Rover publicity shot as well! Andy Frosts Victor does it for me Picture was taken at one of the Riverside Rod and Custom, Black Country cruises in 2003. It was driven from Wolverhampton to Toys R Us car park, Oldbury. Then did the cruise from there to the Robin Hood at Merry Hill, I guess proving the point that it really is a street car! When it left on the night, I can honestly say, I have never seen anything move so bloody quick on the street before, when he came back up the other side of the duel carriageway he must have set every alarm off on the housing estate opposite, even though you couldn't see the estate behind the grass bank! Really did make the hairs on my neck stand on end!

Rob, I agree with Marinanut (I think!) This is how I think the setup should be. Nice pick up by the way, bet it suprises/upsets a few people! Suffolkpaul, I have never liked running engines with low coolant levels (certainly not half full anyway), especially if they are aluminium or ali headed. I would perhaps leave them just below full to allow it to bleed the air out. Pumping/squeezing the top and bottom hoses (ooer mrs) as you are filling helps to prevent air locks as well. Sean

Thanks for the welcome everybody. "Posted by reanimation on Today at 4:33pm Hey welcome cool cars, I need a Firebird in the future."I think third gen Camaro's and Firebirds are much under rated. I really enjoyed mine, they really started to get back towards being performance cars again. Mainly due to the success of the mid 80's fox body Mustangs. "Posted by PhoenixC on Today at 5:26pm Hi Sean and welcome. Good choice of cars.
JE engineering engined SD1, very "Yeh, it was nice, picked it up for a song. The full spec was incredible, basically a full list of everything that you could want in an SD1, JE 4.2 motor with there own JE101 cam, big valve heads, Jag injectors and air meter, adjustable ECU. Stainless exhaust manifolds and system (with the one box removed, the bloke I bought it off said it was too quiet with it, certainly wasn't with out it ), lowered with koni adjustables, Jag front brakes, the list goes on.....unfortunately it was a mess cosmetically. The bloke I bought it off was quite open about how much filler was in it, he had given it a quick lick of paint just to get it all the same colour. Realistically it needed new front wings and complete rear quarters, the latter being a bit ambitious for my bodywork skills, so sold it on to a mate at work who is seriously in to SD1's. Its now sat in his garden looking very sorry for itself waiting its turn, hes slow but very meticulous, will be a nice car when done. Unfortunately havent got any pics of it as I lost them when a hard drive went tits up on my computer. The pics I have got of some cars, past and present are now on the readers ride section. Sean

Hi everyone, thought I would introduce myself. Names Sean (bit obvious really!), live in the West Midlands, current cars are a 1966 Chevy El Camino, a 1972 A series Opel Manta and I've just (literally) bought a late FD shape Vauxhall Ventora of ebay. Previous cars have included a couple of FD victors (one with a small block Chevy), a 1991 Pontiac Firebird Formula 350, an SD1 Vitesse with a 4.2 JE Motors engine (probably the quickest car i've owned), a couple more SD1's and more Ford Cortina's and Escorts than I can remember! Although they werent quite retro when I owned some of them! Guess I'm showing my age If somebody could be kind enough to give me a quick guide on how to put photo's up I will start a thread on the readers ride section if anybody wants to see them ( I have already started a photobucket acount) Cheers Sean

Seen a Celica once on the motorway with one, what made it better was that he had fitted it the wrong way round!
Laugh? I laughed so much I nearly crashed.

Hmm, you may have cracked it there sherlocck, seeing as it has no 'calipers'!! Could still have standard front disk brakes, which would look tiny in 20" wheels or whatever they are.

I suspect that the things that look like drilled brake disks are actually just cosmetic covers, perhaps hiding stock drum brakes!
