Welcome to the club man! Ive got one of these on my drive with the exact same exhaust www.volvo300mania.com/forum-uk/ is one of the best spots for information. Theres a guy on there called classic swede who sells performance parts for them aswell (spax dampers and the like) Some people have fitted landrover 90 front shocks to the rear to stiffen it up for drifting, but this has mixed opinions, so classic swedes spax adjustable's would be a much better alternative As said above the 16v F7r or p engine will liven it up quite a bit! especialy if its a 1.4 like mine currently sourcing parts and sorting out a bellhousing to stick a 4age in mine though

They are a simple design, but the hole for the pin is knackered. The have all ovalised and they have worn down so much that on one of them its worn all the way through! I'll look into making some up at work copying these ones if all fails, but ill go into indispension and see if they have anything similar first

Ive allready searched google, the usual mini sited and fleabay, but had no luck. Heres the hinges and a picture of the Jiffy i1121.photobucket.com/albums/l516/jrweightman/P1040456.jpg [/img]

I did a rally taster day at epic motorsport that my mum got me for my 18th. Was really good fun, even though we were in the little 1.6 saxo's, so i bought my brother and myself one of the night rally experiences they do in the Evo's which is on the 7th of jan. I'd recommend signing up to groupon as thats where we heard about them and you'll get a bargain. The full night rally ended up costing less than a taster session because of it

Heres my 1998 VW polo, painted satin black and with the 1.4 8v engine. The car runs and drives great and passed its MOT last week with no advisory's and had some new rear brake lines fitted, brakes bled, 4 new tyres a month before and will be getting a good clean inside and out before its bought and has also had a new OSF wishbone, rear bushings, flushed the cooling system since i bought it. new cambelt and valves/ head gasket fitted at 100000 and new aero wipers before the MOT. The car has been lowered on adjustable coilovers, new exhaust fitted (cat back) and a new intake fitted as well so it all runs well and gets about 40Mpg on my run to work which it did every day and didn't miss a beat. It also has a valver back bumper and wheels fitted . Bad bits: The roof is still blue, but a dark blue so its not that noticeable, wouldn't cost much to be vinyl wrapped or painted but it didn't bother me. Wheels are a bit scuffed as the paint hadn't quite set when we fitted the tyres! I will however chuck in a tin of white paint which should sort them out no bother Stereo needs a connector that you can get from halfords for about £6 Ill also give the lucky new owner a Haynes manual for it and an intake manifold that i made to use bike carbs/ ITB's on but never got round to trying and any other spares that i have for it I'm looking for £850 ONO seeing as its less than what i paid for the car originally and its got about £400 of parts on it. If you want to view the car then just send me a message on here and ill get back to you asap Follow this link for images: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/200675206851?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649#ht_500wt_1413

Thanks for all the help guys! Ive got a volvo bell housing in the post and I'm going to get a 4age one and compare them. I think ill go with the idea of using the 4age bell with an adaptor plate to fit thetorque tube straight into it, then see how it goes using the volvo clutch on the toyota flywheel. If this doesnt work ill get a prop made up with the correct spline to just use the toyota clutch. There are 2 toyota clutches though, a 200 and 220mm version, so that'll hopefully mean theres an interchangeable clutch from a vehicle that dissapeared 70 years ago ;D Everyone at work thinks I'm crazy, but i love these engines Heres lots of chrome and pikes, with a chunk of power thrown in as a thank you

Crazy! An adaptor plate could work. Could just extend/ bend the thrust bearing arm aswell to compensate for it being further back. Would it be best to use the 4age flywheel and the volvo cluch plates so its easyer to atach the prop shaft??? Nowts ever simple but hell its going to be worth it

Thanks guys, I'll look into making a plate that will let me use the 4age bell housing and connect the cluch to the volvo prop. Would be alot easier if the gearbox was at the front so there was enough room to just swap them over but its a bit of a faf to put a regular setup in Heres a diagram for anyone thats interested in the crazy sewdish layout

I'm planning on an engine swap into my little Volvo, but I'm hoping to keep the standard transmission. The hardest part is getting the engine matched up with the bell housing so i can attach it to the prop shaft and then the gear box. ( the cars a Volvo 340 with the gear box at the back) I'm still in the planning stage, so nothings been bought or chopped up yet (except the car ) so I'm wondering what the best way to get the 1.4 volvo bell housing onto the 4age engine would be? Would it be best to make an adaptor plate or to frankenstein the two together like in the picture below: The red dotted lines are where i'd cut it Heres the volvo bell housing and the 4age bell housing for comparison, both looking at the side that bolts to the engine block: ^^ 4AGE bell housing ^^ Volvo 340 1.4 bell housing Thanks alot for any advice guys. Heres a fruity 4age to spur you on:

If you don't mind a drive to Penrith, Cumbria Classic Car shows coming up soon (21st August) at Dalemane house. Usually a good turnout and there's usually just as many nice cars and bikes in the car park as the event itself!

After getting my hillman through the MOT i hit a rather large pot hole taking my girlfriend home, which resulted in most of the passenger side fire wall fall away as it was all just fibre glass and news paper (but expertly blended into the body. It was even covered in under seal) I can still remember the look on her face when she turned to me and said " James... I can see the road"

I have a 1.4 CL and its not been much trouble. Its lowered about 100mm all round and ive just finished painting it Satin black today. There not bad little cars. I get about 35/40 mpg and that's on my way to college which is about 1/2 motorway cruzing and 1/2 stop-start traffic. I'd buy another one if something happend to this one though.

Was just unsure if there wouldn't be enough of the exhaust gas to heat it up enough with it being designed for more ? Ill probably just stick on a bigger cat anyway seeing as it'll need MOT at some point
