£800 for any cars sounds good to me even if it's just 3 currently.
Dependent on cars you can insure on classic policies but some aren't tailored to having the car as a daily e..g commuting ncb mileage.

trailer tyres are probably the worst ones to start on, they are much tougher than car tyres. This gives me some hope then! I'll try a car steelie later to see the difference.

I've just picked up something similar second hand and struggled. I'm only removing and refitting a trailer steelie with steel bar for practice.
Are you using tyre lubricant/paste?
Make sure the side that's just gone on falls below the raised area (I think you can buy little chocks or push down clamps to help)
I've removed and refitted my tyre about 10 times now and it does get easier with every change.

I've had some tissue paper blocking an oil gallery disappear down there and found it months later upon stripping the bottom end, so not surprised that rag caused havoc. Bad luck but it'll live again bigger and better.

I have a HPI Firestorm electric stadium truck but these pictures make me want something for road use... That 1/5 scale touring car would be amazing!

I think my 940 estate is stamped at 1970kg gross. You'd get away with your trailer on it too.
I think they do a turbo diesel one? My 2.3 petrol is great at towing. And a lot of choice for £1000.

The best value for money is Costco, Arcan 2tonne or there abouts half-alloy (used to be fully alloy) jack for about £80-90. Best built, low entry and great price.

Just another 940 turbo estate. Everything goes in or on it and it tows like a dream. Monroe air shocks on the rear take any load.

The bloke that set up my bike carbs expressed a dislike for foam filters in case of back fires. He does grassers etc all running carbs. So suspect he's seen it before. Much preferred the plastic topped K&N clamp down type.

Great car. Acceptable plans. You are winning at vauxhall life.
Bin the diesel off now it's broken. Pop an XE in there.

The new bushes weren't quite hardcore enough so I've gone fully rosejointed on the front end This has gained me some castor by moving the wheel forward on the tie bars More filing of the turrets has allowed me to move the topmount inwards to get my desired camber And to set it up side by side I made a cheapo turn plate out of thick steel, skateboard griptape and grease between the two. It works well. It's now running 1.5 degrees camber, 2 degrees caster and 1mm toe out up front and it feels awesome. Real test will be at Cadwell in a week's time.

No cover but it has grey brackets if you find a cover without the hardware...

I have a 940 estate in dark metallic green for breaking. 2.3 turbo auto I think I'm keeping wheels and engine and a few bits but shout if you need anything

an absolutely fantastic Nova you have, and really enjoyed reading through the thread. Had a number of novas over the years including an L reg gsi and very brief time with K95 VHD. thought I was finished with them, but actually would really like another at some point. Cheers, was originally intending to buy a GSi but found it hard to find a good one... And that was 10 years ago! Eek.

Fitted an Odyssey PC680, which with it's bracket weighs in at 6.6kg. The original battery and bracket was 12.9kg, and the large cable to the rear a whopping 1.8kg. This was mounted on the back of the passenger footrest so nice short wiring now. Longacre bulkhead connector fitted and new lines made up inside and engine bay: I've also made a new dash and had it flocked a nice mid grey, made up some carbon switch panels and it's looking neater inside now. Killswitch, brake balance adjuster, oil/water temp/pressure gauges etc all in the centre and easy to access.

I had great success with this setup for notching rollcage tubes, food for thought.
