I know there was a poll some time ago, but I'd not heard anything more about it (SO IF THIS IS A REPOST SORRY ;D) Looks like they will be 7x15" 4 and 5 stud, not sure about the domed centre but I'll want to see them on a car before I pass final judgement! www.wolfrace.co.uk/40th_details.php?wheelID=244

This must be a mistake, they've photographed the wheel from behind! Edit - "The new Slot Mag design remains largely unchanged from the original 1970’s version" Who on earth do they think they're kidding? Maybe it's possible to machine them flat and mount them inside out?

I guess these days they need to cater for modern FWD machinery hence the wierd design. It's not terribly attractive with a center cap IMO. I wonder it has them because they are multi fitment?

Well, let's face it, if Wolfrace relaunched their Slotmags exactly as they were in the '70s they wouldn't sell many at all. The retro market just isn't big enough to warrant making them. How many people on RR would buy a brand new set of 13x5.5J Wolfies for £500? Not many I'll bet. Certainly not enough to warrant Wolfrace going to the expense of relaunching them. These do look a bit strange with the FWD offset and the reinterpreted design, but they need these wheels to be commercial, and that means having enough styling cues to be recognisable as a Slotmag, but fresh enough to fit in with modern car designs. Personally, I can imagine these wheels looking great on a slammed Mk3 Polo or something, as an alternative to ATS Cups. Good on Wolfrace I say.

They just look like stock wheels to me, nothing special that would make you want to spend lots of money on them, i don't think they will appeal to the 20" rim brigade OR the retro owner, Image manage to survive while selling a fair few wheels that are aimed directly at older cars.

Oh, Well that got my hopes up. Looks like it'll be Ansen mags for me then. If you can get hold of them, Wheeltec International make some called SLT Muscle mags, which look the part and come in all the good sizes... Not too pricey either. I was originally going to get a set for my van but got tired of waiting for news on the 10x15's which were on backorder for months.

They did some like that back in the day and some of the narrow Cosmic slots looked a bit that way.
Its no slotmag as we know it but I do kinda like that.
Is it only in the 15"?
I've been emailing heir PR people about this and getting no reply and "pop" here it is.

You know what, I honestly can't decide if I like em or not!?! I think it's the fact that it's going to be called slot mag, I like the design but it ain't no slot mag! Feel kinda cheated like they are just ignoring the people who actually wanted to buy a brand new set of wolfie slot mags But what Benz boy said is probably correct, just didn't see it coming. Oh well

Thats a shame. They've recreated the least likeable style. And 15x7 feels like a really middle of the road size - too big for those that like to keep it old looking but too small to be interesting for moderns. BB, when you look at the choice of new JBW wheels, some of those must have pretty limited markets yet are available new. www.midlandwheels.com/Shop/C-1102-JBW---John-Brown-Wheels.htmlSurely there'd be at least as many people willing to buy a new 7x13 dishy slot mag as there would a 7x13 Mamba, Rallye Special (Allycat) or starmag, especially as slots have a bit of a "cult" thing.

^Seth, 15" is just what most of the VW people would be after I reckon, the same size as most ATS cups/classics come in.
I like it actually, as a fresh design. it's no slottie though.
Kind of like the BMW Medium, it's a perfectly alright car, but it's not a 'Mini', is it?

I'd roll them on a 106 or something similar age/size quite happily.
Reluctant to call them slot mags though..
