depends on which VW you got
if you got a mk1 goof, then the mk1 golf owners club is pretty much the best
if a passat then UK passats
there is far too many of them tho, Edition 38 and GTI seem about the biggest for watercooled where VZI is the biggest for air cooled

I tend to just stick to whats best for your specific model. If you go onto things like ED38 youll find youll be told what best alot. Whereas using a model specific forum for your parts and tech questions, and then use google and here to get inspiration... If it was up to the watercooled boys every vw would look the same each season ....

How about dubshire, ok it's small but it is local. I've met a few of the lads off there and they are a nice bunch. www.dubshire.co.uk/

I rate volkszone quite highly; particularly if you need mechanical advice and you have an aircooled dub - there are some ridiculously knowledgable people on there

edition38 and clubgti are the ones I use for general VW stuff, but I find them a bit "scene" heavy
I do find local and model specific forums good, for me its been fl4tlanders (lincs club) scirocco register and vwsyncro

E38 is good for looking at projects etc. there is alot of ego's on there but if you ignore them then your alright! Club gti has a lot of technical info and there guys on there tend to be more track based and alot of them have lots of knowledge to share. Only downside is I get the impression they down like anybody doing something that isnt going to make there car faster like fitting silly wide wheels and silly low suspension

2nd vote for this one seing as you have a mk3 golf. tis a good forum without so many scene-kids who have more money than brain cells. there might be loads of vw forums, but finding a good one can be tricky.
