These have an irretrievably 'Barry' image at the moment. Another five years or so though...

Check through the galleries on Cleaned.be for some good looking ones! Try and find a 1.5td ftw!

Had a 1994 1.2 as my second car. As much as I made out I hated it, it was a great car. Did everything I asked of it. Never broke down once. Was economical.
One problem with Corsas is the amount of times they get broken into. My old one was broken into 3 times while owned by the previous owner and twice while I had it. Because of the young driver image they have, if you have a non-standard stereo in there they'll also asume that there is a sub and amp in the back. There not exactly hard to get into either.
Have heard good things about the GSI's and the 1.5td's as mentioned by Quirtina. I think the big problems with Corsa B's now are the rust and rot setting in and finding a clean one that hasn't been ragged to within an inch of its life.

Do it
Cheap and can look very nice as the pics prove. I was after a TD for the Mrs for a first car but they seem a little on the rare side but prob less likely to be raged unlike the rapid GSI's.
Like the P slots idea, 14's can be had cheap (even I rock a pair when I can afford the low pro tyres) the 15's are taxed to death and adapters for the porker rims are gonna cost as much as a decent set of tyres. Loads of options what with the 4 X 100 ness of the b for cheap win.

I ran this for nearly three years: I bought it for £20 and spent less than that on maintenance for the whole time. It was totally dull to drive, no enjoyment in it whatsoever, but it got me all over the country to all sorts of places and only let me down once. They respond really well to euro-treatment, I've got loads of pics but they'll have to wait til tomorrow!

I would disagree with that... IMO they are about the worst of the early 90s hatches to drive in standard form. Both of the ones I've driven have felt completely disconnected from the road No driving pleasure whatsoever. They can polish up well though, as shown in the photos!

I bought it for £20 and spent less than that on maintenance for the whole time. Lol, these cars are so cheap over there in the UK. My sister bought one 6 months ago, about a 1995, 5 door 1.4 manual in base spec with air con but spotless like a brand new car and only 130,000km on it, full history etc. It was $4000, which is about 2,300 quid. They go for about $3000 in average condition for their age.

It was only yesterday I was looking at one of these making 'hmmm' noises. It was an early 3 door, with black bumpers and the povo spec half hubcaps. Excellent base vehicle for doing something interesting with, or just the usual rim and drop

What works for a Polo works for a Corsa. Gray 5 door on BBS RM's containing win in large quantities. Had a set of coil-overs for these laying around, so bought one thinking I'd dump it down and stick some of my 4x100 wheels on it, however I HATEEDD it! i had a 1400 auto and the box was awful. Handled like curse word .. desperately needs rear arb, understeeer was hideous. build quality was less than desirable. Never have I sat in a car where i can pretty much remove the entire dash without any tools or any real effort. I have to say though.. the brakes were great lol

id say get a 1.5td too.. mate had one for a pizza delivery car.. amazing on fuel and quick once the turbo spooled up , some things i will say...
Awefull to drive in a drivers car perspective... , possibly better lower with some wider tyres?, and if they made one with power steering and that engine, get it! without it youll have bigger arms than popeye... I drive cars with out power steering everyday.. and have driven vans without it with no problem... But that corsa was in a whole other league!
