Nice! Love the red wide-arched Mk3 Escort. Is this one RWD converted? (Gartrac?) Yeah, I believe that's a gennie G3, one of several RWD Mk3's competing...but the only one denoted on the entry list as a Gartrac....so I can't vouch for the authenticity of the others. All of them were quick though. The guy behind the wheel of car 43 (the one with 'TW4T' written on the side in insulation tape...) was just out to entertain, and did so in heroic balls-out style. It's possible that I'll be out for a second helping next Sunday, there's an event (the Ecurie Royal Oak MC Oak Leaf Stages) on up at the old Royal Ordnance Factory at Swynnerton, near Stoke-on-Trent. Let's hope the weather's as good! Rallying returns to Down Ampney on May 29th when EMCOS host the Co-OrdSport Stages there. And Norm? It's too late mate...I'm spoken-for. ;D

First batch uploaded to Flickr. Link at the bottom..... Andy Corner's 205GTi is probably the quickest in the UK, I've seen him perform many giant-killing acts with it over the years. Well over 200bhp allied to a sequential flat-change box and an exuberant driving style make him a perennial favourite amongst marshals/spectators. I know I'm getting old. Surrounded by immensely quick machinery, but this would be the one I took home. A closer look at that 8-port Mini. LOVE those Mk1/2 sliding windows in Mk3 doors. Trick. The overall winners, Adrian Brown and Chris Jarman. That Escort packs a 2.4 litre XE built by JRE under the bonnet, churning out over 300bhp. Flickr album.....pick your favourites (I'll be adding a few more to it over the coming days): www.flickr.com/photos/damaged23/sets/72157623882653936/

Had to share this with you....hilarious in-car video from saturday featuring Frank Burton and Rob Thompson (the occupants of car 43, the white RWD Mk3 Escort with 'TW4T' down the side), AKA 'Team Gimp'.
*Contains swearing. LOTS of swearing.* ;D Now THAT'S what I call 'having fun with old cars'.
