Does anyone else feel that they lack automotive ambition?
I was musing on this subject after the peeps at work were takking about winning the lottery. I came to the conclusion that i'd buy exactly the same kind of cars as I do now!
I seem to get more excited about building an essex V6 powered Corsair than a V12 powered Ferrari!
And i'm not even really talking about impossiblw stuff! I find myself wanting to own a Cinq Sporting over an Impreza turbo etc etc.
Am I alone?

Yeah, I see where you are coming from. More money for me would just lead to more cars, not necessarily more expensive ones. Don't worry about it, I don't. Mind, if I had a ferrari 350 mondail I'd probably still run it as a daily and not wash it Mike.. hot essex? haha. well, I suppose scims do overheat a lot

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

the only thing i would buy if i won the lottery is an established restoration place, let the day to day of the place carry on and in return for bankrolling it come and go as i please and do my cars in there.
so no your no alone, i cant see any point in owning a red v12 penis when you can scare yourself senseless in a 16v mini and girls are far more interested in a classic.
so no your not alone,
i put it down to guys like us being able to see past the bull curse word and marketing and to the actual substance of the thing.

and girls are far more interested in a classic. This one is!! ;D
i'd probably spend the money on rebuilding all my current vehicles, and add afew more to it.
Though i think teh only new new car would be a Caterham 7 fireblade (in purple)

got plenty of car i would like to build just need the money to get them and do them or at least do them quicker ;D . as for type of car put it this way supercars would not be very high up on the list they are just to fussy to clinical and way to over rated . very high up on my list would be a genuine mk3 cortina savage with all its running gear replaced by stuff that actually makes it the fast car it was meant to be but keep it looking stock on the out side ;D

i'd spend it on storage and filling the storage, then i'd get to work on designing my spaceframed fiesta knowing full well i can do whatever the hell i want without restrictions, it would be built with an aim to beat the Gould Puma ;D
i'd probably buy some nice stuff too, but just something big and luxurious to cruise about in comfortable, like a manaro or something. problem is, i don't think i could ever own a car without the temptation to lower, change wheels and even tune it a bit, or a lot if i was loaded ;D

if were talking lottery money, i would certainly have more cars, and more expensive cars, but no modern super cars for me either. An Audi RS6 Avant for parts chassing and shopping would do me. I'd get on some courses/apprentiship type thing and learn more about what i'm trying to do while filling the garage with a 30's ford, a 50's merc, and several 60's and 70's coupes and racers. I think most people here would be simmilar, thats why we're here - we like what we do. any way - thread needs pics:

you know when people say 'OMG save this car before it goes to the baler / banger racers / export / whatever' if I had a lottery win, then you would be seeing the KFW storage facility for rusty old chod become even bigger than it currently is...
- although a shelby daytona coupe would probably find it's way in...

Almost on the road: b11 sunny breadvan, e36 tds, 325i skidcar,
nearly there: ford f250 tathauler, suzuki alto, u11 bluey
not for a while: ford pop, 32 rails,
not in this lifetime: ruby, '29 hillman
''unfortanatly I'm quite old and scruffy and in need of some loving. my drive shaft needs a new boot....''

Hmm if I won the lotto theyd be a rusty Mk1 uno on my drive. That would quickly find a 500 abarth engine in it. Oh and the cars Ive already got would get a professional resto job.

I've always thought that if I won a massive amount I would build my dream home with an underground garage and then fill it with old race and rally cars. The real deals, ex-works ones etc. When it comes to Supercars I could see myself owning a few, but again they would more than likely be 70's or 80's ones rather than the modern equivalents. I will own a white Countach and Spider converted Testarossa one day.

Lottery? Well, I'd build my Commer van with Citroen diesel power and hydraulics, but also? And that's just for starters

i'd have a big field of rusty banger i think, i would have the occasional supercar, be nice to use them for bits in projects, i can see a nice model A delivery with a Ferrari V12 in the back of it.

Volvo back as my main squeeze, more boost and some interior goodies on the way.

I would get my Herald properly restored and fitted with the most powerful engine that would fit in it, then keep the rest standard.
Then I'd buy various otherr classic British cars and restore them and fit more powerful than standard engines in them and keep the rest stock. I like the idea of a Bentley Blower 'rod as well although it'd be a shame in a way

As above really.. I'd be eying up the same old tat I do now, but I'd have the time and money to make them into the awesomeness I want within weeks and months, rather than years and decades. I don't even play the lottery
