The reason the rear jumps about is cos it has cortina rear end they all do it, curse word rear end design but I bet it's worse with a lighter car cos I know all my cortinas get a better ride with more weight in th back softer springs and thick ARB might help but I think the ginetta already uses thicker ARBs than the cortina ? Not sure of the antiroll bar, it’s a kitcar so could have used anything or nothing. Are there standard springs which are softer (1300 Cortina?) or would I have to get some made up?

Seats are from a Rover R8 220 or 216GTi. Or a very early GTi Turbo.
If they are in because they fit the floorpan well any Rover seats bar ZR/ZS/ZT/75 will fit. 800 Recaros will fit with some rail mods.

Is there nobody who can’t spot Fiesta glass? ;D I just showed this thread to my wife and she said "nice, but why has it got fiesta doors on?" ;D

To get a standard A40 this low, you'd have to dig a hole to put it in

Some nice Wide rims with plenty of dish, and a subtle drop would = WIN from me. In fact I would roll in that right now. The hunt for nice wheels continues, unfortunately the ones I want are a different PCD and I don't know if the hubs are thick enough to be tapped for wheel bolts or if I'd need to fit studs, which are a pain for the machine shop. Anyone know? I've fitted some lower springs so now it looks like this

I'm restoring one of these for a mate at the moment.
Full respray, full rewire, rip out original interior and replace.
If you need any help let me know, I've already discovered a lot of quirks to these cars, with regard to your overheating pull the thermostat out, Simons was jammed solid.

I'm restoring one of these for a mate at the moment. Full respray, full rewire, rip out original interior and replace. Wow, I wouldn't have thought its value would be anywhere near the cost of a restoration? But it's nice to see them coming back to life, with a galvanised chassis it makes a lot of sense as a cheap RWD car that won't rust and is easy to fix. If you need any help let me know, I've already discovered a lot of quirks to these cars, with regard to your overheating pull the thermostat out, Simons was jammed solid. I replaced the thermostat and now it runs at the right temperature, I might have an airlock in the system though and I can't find a bleed valve to fit in the 5/8 heater pipe. What sort of exhaust is it running? Mine's got the standard system other than a tubular manifold and the silencer is banging on the floorpan and the back box is knocking on the spare wheel well and chassis. Think I'll replace both silencers with Jetex 80mm diameter ones. And if you come across a spare interior, I need rear 1/4 panels, headliner and parcel shelf

Could you use 'wobble bolts' (pcd variable) you can fit wheels up to 2mm different with a set ie.. if yours are 4x110 you could potentially fit up to 4x112 or down to 4x108 if that makes sense. I guess yours are 4x108 being ford based? Its cool, loving the ride height!

Still undecided on what to do for wheels, so for the moment I'm doing nothing I think the propshaft is out of balance as the whole car vibrates like crazy at 80+mph, but the engine feels strong and there's plenty of power left, it's doing about 3500rpm at that speed. Low speed cornering is where it's at though

Rear axle tramping about on Mk3-5 Cortinas is usually at least partly down to knackered void bushes - powerflex do uprated replacements, that would be my first port of call...

That looks mint now its lowered! Does need some rimmage! What do you fancy wheel wise? Some 15x8 minilight styles in anthracite would look really cool imo.
